Looks great, just the small amount of pixelation takes the edge off it. Good colours and a brilliant piece!

thanks a lot.. i dont really remember what the deal with the pixellation was.. i think its partly to do with the lossy jpeg compression. but glad it worked out in the end

she's gorgeous. unbelieveable job on the folds and wrinkles in her jacket. did you use any kind of autotrace-tool for shading her face? it's an impressive job either way, in this picture all the detail shading really works well. (most of the time i think over-detailed vectors end up looking like low dpi photos, but you're avoiding that elegantly!)

sargeras In reply to karina [2004-10-09 19:07:18 +0000 UTC]

thanks a lot nah i dont use any kind of auto trace, basically just trace the different shades by looking at it, and then go back and change what doesnt look right. I have to agree with you about really detailed vectors, ive never really strived for photorealism cause i dont really see the point.. photos are perfectly good right? I like the sharp edges and smooth curves that vectors do so well, so i try to use that as much as possible.

Damn, I wished I could see something like that at the local subway station or train.

Nice work on the shading on her clothes!

sargeras In reply to under18carbon [2004-06-23 08:10:31 +0000 UTC]

hehe, true that. not that i really ride the subway from one year to the next. thanks a lot for the comment. i made up the shading on the top but the bottom is pretty much just traced from the photo, and cut down to two shades.

this reminds me of one of those strange dream .when you're in a public place and don't have the right amount of clothing on.
the shading was done really well.the red dice were a nice touch also.

sargeras In reply to turn2002 [2004-06-23 06:27:57 +0000 UTC]

heh, that would be unlucky for sure. thanks a lot though, the dice started out grey, but i thought they'd make a cool accent.

Nah: you can totally tell she's on some sort of moving transport thing ie. train, bus, subway etc.

I like this very much as vectors are my favourite form of digi-art. Awesome stuff
