Description Bandai Namco has been known to be one of the grand peaks of arcade games, with hits like Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig Dug, Tekken! to securing the rights to develop anime based games from the likes of Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto and more.
But one franchise that seems to be on the very edge of being obscure, and that is the "Tales" games...or the "Tales of" games as it was known.

This is actually one of the oldest franchises Namco produced, and around the same time as Tekken started, pretty much had the same history as Fire Emblem, being JP exclusives AND on Nintendo systems, until Tales of Symphonia on the GCN which gave the series a proper exposures to western audiences, and since then grew a lot.

Though tbh, not much is being talked about, despite the share amount of installments, cuz it's really a shame that these wonderful games aren't receiving much recognitions as say Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest.
Maybe the notion of being "generic" anime based game might come to play due to the overwhelming amount of RPGs, though "Tales" ain't an actual JRPG, it's more on the action oriented side with a bit of RPG elements to it, think of it as Kingdom Hearts but a bit more arena based system.

I don't recall myself a big fan, but I am finding a sweet spot for this series and appreciate it more, with titles such Symphonia, Berseria, Vesperia, and the latest one Arise, all peaked my interest with great cast of characters, worlds to explore and combat system that is really fun to play!

Hopefully this post can encourage newcomers to try one of these games cuz they're delightful experiences, and if anyone wants recommendations? Well I'd say either Symphonia or Vesperia are good starting points, which both already available on modern consoles, so be free to check them.
And as usual give your thoughts and I'll be seeing you later
