Description So this was my Abnormal Psychology project that I did over spring break. We had to do an artistic piece and write a reflection on it. I decided to do Major Depressive Disorder and this immediately popped in my head. So I drew it and digitally painted it.

From the reflection:
"There are two sides to a person with Major Depressive Disorder: the pain inside and the happiness shown. The pain side, on the left, has self-harm cuts, serious burns, claw marks, and throat torn to show what is wanted to be done, self-harm, or even death. The blood is from the wounds, but also to show how Major Depressive Disorder could make stains and linger in life. The cuff is to show how tight and restraining Major Depressive Disorder can be. The right side is the mask of happiness and “everything-is-all-right.” There are bubbles to show how light and bubbly the mask is. A smile to show laughter and the hair tied back to show normalcy."
