For my Figure Drawing class. Drawing the figure in full value using the "wipe out technique" Which is using the eraser to bring out the lightest parts. This technique can really sharpen up dull drawings with just adding highlights here and there.

Charcoal.

Btw, Strathmore Layout Bond paper is great for studies like these using charcoal, you can erase mistakes heaps easier than regular newsprint... but newsprint is heaps cheaper
