"SilentPoetGuy"
Me-
I stand against the cosmic Latte colored wall, my left leg crooked up behind me, holding my stance-
Watching, like a chameleon- I blend in with the stains, unnoticed.
Bored of all this hum-drum ho-hum, I'm ready to leave this poetic dance-
But she catches my eye...
She is not like the others- thinking to myself,
- asking myself why?
You-
You feel my eyes upon you, looking up from your Monster Energy Drink.
Your worn and tattered notebook drops to the floor,
Eyes darting side to side, scanning the room,
not taking the time to think.
Then, you catch my glance- As you bend down to pick it up,
Revealing just a hint of your flesh, your curves.
Turning away, with a flip of your tousled auburn hair,
I wonder if my very presence stopped your heart-
The way that you stopped mine?
Or was my intense stare,
getting under your skin, and on your nerves?
Me-
I watched you slip out the door,
unnoticed by others, but just a parting glance-
A sly smile, told me that this was my moment-
This was my chance.
I leaped from my perch, alongside the wall,
through the crowd of writers and poets-
I sprinted for the door, I hadn't a moment to stall.
You-
Just as you exit the place,
just as you're leaving-
I catch up to you, my heart pounding,
my chest heaving.
My sudden presence startles you,
and there's no time for you to think-
You slam your hand in my face,
and drop your Monster Energy Drink.
You reach deep into your purse,
and spray my eyes with your mace-
I slam the wall with my fist,
as I scream and thrash and curse-
Us-
After all the commotion dies,
and you offer me a wet-one for my eyes-
You plead with me to forgive you,
and I laughingly also apologize.
We walk and talk to my car,
and laugh about the way that things turn out-
I offer you a ride for your troubles,
You agree and accept with a just a little doubt,
but no regret.
This is one story for the books I tell you-
But it is the truth of how
You and I met.
-Kelly.
