Description And another old piece. This one from 2001...

Some of you may recognize this piece from the Revolutionary Girl Utena The Movie DVD fan tribute section. It was one of the ten tributes chosen to be included for the US release of the movie. ^_^

I think it's one of my more popular paintings. At NDK5, it won the Best Mixed Media award and is one of my better selling prints.

With Ame de la Rose, I used liquid frisket for the second time ever. Those roses were a pain! This also marks the first time for a pure water color background. I suck at backgrounds so I was happy about this one. This painting taught me a lot of new techniques that I found worked for me with my water color pencils. The only disappointing thing is that the scan doesn't show the sparkle off the metal and jewels.

Anyway, I'm happy about this one. It holds a very dear place in my heart.
