Hoo yeah. This one is from 2008. It's titled with 2009 because it was an entry for SakuraCon 2009 mascot contest.
I guess I was aiming for something more modern and more like a casual look instead of a traditional kimono type attire.
I'm not sure she turned out really the way I wanted her to but she's okay in general.
Copic markers on marker paper. Little bit of color pencil for wee bits of texture.

I like her hair and the hairpins/chopsticks. I'd totally wear that outfit (probably in different colors though, I don't look good in yellow
I wish I could go to Sakuracon. It'll probably be my first con outside of NDK when I get the means to go.
I've got a friend who lives up that way and goes to Sakuracon, and we've been trying to meet in person for years. He's never been able to come to NDK

Sakuracon was my first out of state con. It's fun being able to roam around and stuff. They have it at the convention center and it's SO nice! You'll definitely get there and roam with your friend. Who knows, maybe we'll all be there the same year and we can all roam together!

lol its cause I'm spamming everyone with it so I can slowly force it into everyone's eyes until the image is burned into their retinas and they will love me *_*
lol its just cause I post everything I draw so I can throw it away (paper or on computer for space either way lol ) and cause my computer keeps crashing and my room gets messy easy lol

U have done good job with colors, and shadows look very good in this.
Her pose is also nice, not on of those boring i'm-just-standing-motionles-picks. Here u can actually see the movement. But my favorite part is definetly the hair! 83 And those little hair-things.
Only thing that bugs me a bit is that her head is a bit too big if u compare it into her body. x3

I'm partial to her hair as well. That was my favorite part. And yep. Her head is a bit too big. I didn't realize that until it was too late. I didn't have time to re-draw it back then either.

I know the feeling! It really sucks when u realize the mistakes too late. Especially when u see it after inking the lines when u haven't even started coloring but when it already is too late to fix it. >.,D
