I just looked up Tailchaser's Song on Wikipedia, and it looks pretty interesting. I'll have to check it out, if I can find it anywhere...

I honestly thought this was Warriors, for three reasons. One: It looks like Warriors cover art, it's that good. Two: Warriors is the only series I've read, aside from Guardians of Ga'Hool (which is by the same author, if I remember correctly) that features animals as the as the main characters. Three: The title reminded me of Jaypaw, because Jaypaw is blind. (I won't go into detail, because me saying that is a spoiler as is, and I don't want to ruin the books for anyone.)
On a side note, I read Warriors first and Guardians second. I've never even heard of Tailchaser's Song, though.

Then I probably have heard of him at some point. The only medicine cats from Thunderclan I remember are Jayfeather and Leafpool.

I'm not sure when he came in either, I think he was Tawnypelt's son

Yeah, now I remember him. He's the son of Tawnypelt and Rowanstar (along with his brother, Tigerheart, and his sister, Dawnpelt).

Yeah, it just took some digging. I have way too much crap up here. *he taps the side of his head* It makes me forget some stuff sometimes. XD

It certainly doesn't help that I have photographic memory, so I remember pretty much everything I see. Having that much information in one brain leads to other stuff getting temporarily deleted, until I need it again. Then it comes back. So basically, my brain acts like a computer with a Recycle Bin.

It's annoying at times, because I can't remember stuff I want to remember at a certain point until about an hour later. That, and having that much information stored up there sometimes gives me massive headaches.

Azarathian-Mage In reply to Sarn-Elyren [2015-10-08 18:40:47 +0000 UTC]
Headaches are kind of a family thing for us, although we all have them for different reasons. My older sister gets migraines for reasons we don't know, my younger sister has sinus issues all year, my mom is a caffeine addict, the reason I listed above. My grandfather gets them, although I don't know his reason. Not sure about my grandmother. (My dad doesn't live with us. Divorce, and all that. So I don't consider him part of the family, despite his being my biological father. My older sister has more of a reason not to, since he's her step-dad. She's technically my half-sister, since she had a different father, but I grew up with her, so she's a full sister either way you look at it, even without blood.)

What, the headaches or the divorce? Because I'm used to the headaches after almost 15 years of them (since around age 4; why it's 15 is because I'm turning 19 on the 23rd), and I've been over the divorce for almost a decade. (I've been living in Georgia for almost 9 years now, and the divorce happened about 2 years before we moved up here from Florida.)

Like I said, I'm used to the headaches and I got over the divorce a long time ago. Not to mention my dad was an asshole to not only my mom, but he was an asshole to me. On my graduation day, no less. Needless to say, there is no lost love between us. For all I care nowadays, he can stay on the other side of the country and rot. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he was homeless, in jail or both. (He can't keep a job, he always gets fired for one reason or another.)

Aawwww, thank you so much! That means a lot too me!
I must agree with you, I read Tailchaser's Song before Warriors, and while I enjoyed Warriors, Tailchaser's Song was still the apple of my eye. I loved Tailchaser's Song, I wish he had made more! I hope they finish the movie soon too!!!

I really don't think Tailchaser's Song needed a sequel. It's the kind of story that, had they made it into a series, it may have gone on for too long ("Die a hero, or live long enough to become a villain").
I do think there could be a prequel about Stretchslow and everything he got up to back in his youth, or perhaps even a small collection of a few short stories to show how all of our favorite characters are doing. The main problem with writing sequel would be that Fritti's adventure was pretty much as epic as it gets without destroying the fabric of space and time, and one would be hard pressed to find him an adversary that's more evil than Grizraz.

I don't really think that a sequel would have worked, but just another book about that world would have been fun. I meam, that's what he did with most of his other books. It's just a shame to let that storyline go, I think.

Yeah, I think the world he created still has a lot of potential. 30 years after it was written, people are still talking about it - albeit not many of us, but enough to keep it going!

The language was awesome, too!
Me and my friend who introduced me to the book occasionally say "Nre'fa-o" for goodbye, and used the word "Os" to describe how the stormclouds in the sky looked like impending death xD

I feel the same about the Inheritance Cycle (better known as Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr, and Inheritance, the last book being the namesake for the entire series) and it's language. It's simply known as the "Ancient Language", and at one point, was used by everyone in Alagaësia, but is now only used by the Shur'tugal (Dragon Riders) and the Elves. There are a few problems with using this language. (In-universe, anyway.) The first is that, while speaking it, the person speaking is physically incapable of lying. The second is that, since it's a magical language by it's very essence, if you aren't careful of what you say (Eragon, the protagonist, learned this the hard way), you could do anything from accidentally cast a curse instead of a blessing to outright kill someone. Hence, the reason it's usually only used for naming objects and casting spells.

O.o doggone. ("We lose more language teachers that way...") I may have to check that series out. I remember absolutely loving the movie - why didn't they make the rest??
