Well first, I applied a base coat + white nail polish and then, I printed the pictures and glued them with clear nail polish

5 coats, holy crap XDD; Be careful with that, the more layers you put on the more chance you have of peeling them off before you want them to!

Btw, I tried the newsprint trick with different types of paper/ink and I can tell you, IT ONLY WORKS WITH NEWSPAPER.

XD;; because it's newsprint! And I think the type of ink they use on it, too. HAHAHA.
I'm not sure how much better it would work but you could also do your design and then do a gel overlay on it instead of traditional top coat. I like to paint my nails with acrylic paint and then do a coat of LCN sealant overtop--lasts a few days before it starts to chip anyway because sealant really doesn't like paint...or nail polish...but for a few days it works nicely usually

Oh yeah...D: I can buy gel just about anywhere but I have a license to buy it - technically you need to be a nail tech in order to get it but I know some places in department stores usually sell a cheaper brand with a UV light of sorts that'll still work. Not that I'm endorsing it but that's what the general public has to do if they don't want to pay for a service in a salon, right?
Unless you actually do have a license and I just offended you in which case I am very sorry .__.;
