In Breath of the Wild if you pull out your Sheikah Slate camera while wearing the Lynel Mask, the Lynel will notice that you are not one of them and will attack. Be careful, those beasts are smart.Related content

Actually, if the lynel sees your shiekah slate held out when using ANY rune, including your Master Cycle Zero.
Trival information:
-Ploymus mountain lynel's AI is notably different compared to all other lynels besides the fact that it stays a red-manned lynel as you progress through the game:
--Doesn't stare you down for 30 seconds but rather attack as soon the yellow exclamation mark appears when it sees you without the lynel mask.
--Touching the lynel before it sees you doesn't automatically triggers the lynel to know your presence, the lynel MUST face at you to begin the battle. All others automatically notices you if you touch them or hit them with any melee weapon or a damaging shield (lynel shield) on the back or sides.
--When not knowing link's presence, all non-ploymus mountain lynels occasionally roar after a few walks and stops. Ploymus moutain lynel doesn't roar at all when not knowing link's presence
--It is very sensitive to noises. Even with max stealth, you have to move even slower compared to others. All other lynels will not hear you if you have max stealth, walk (not sprint) or crouch (any movement speed while crouching won't be noticed)
-While all non-lynel enemies and Link himself follow the 1 and 2 handed weapons rule, lynels don't; they can wield a spear and even a crusher (crusher for 2 hands during swing) with one hand. What a beast. The crusher I assume isn't hollow, thus very heavy and not suitable for rito people.
-If you die while mounted on their back (either by running out of stamina with 1/4 heart left or get hit by their upwards shot arrow), during link's falling animation, the lynel will roar as the game over appears.
-You can get trampled (take damage by running into you) by lynels much like horses. When doing a running sword or crusher attack (not doing a full dash speed), run away in front of the lynel and let him run you over. The damage also scales with each tier of the lynels.

My guess is that they will at first be slightly confused before seeing that you're not one of them? Thats just my guess based on how the Lynel here looks confused in the first picture.

You get it from Kilton's shop for 999 "mon", which you can get by selling the various monster parts you can get from enemies such Bokoblins, Moblins, etc.
