Day 14: Favorite Psychic Type.The Eeveelutionsβ faces are so hard to draw. >< Espeon is awesome, though, with a beautiful design and interesting concept--not just being based on a nekomata, but with its name, too. I would also definitely want one IRL.

what I've noticed with pokemon is that, though they seem simple, they are painfully specific in the way the faces' lines curve, or the eyes shape (almond vs oval vs egg it really matters!) and not getting it right means that it doesnt look the way one may want it.
but, the face looks pretty legit here. The body pose and overall flow works so nice

well, that's the fun thing. You can either try and be super specific and accurate, or you can be interruptive and modify the design to your own style. It's all dependent on what you like

Yeah. Since I sort of have to work with digital stuff right now, I'm trying to practice exercising my own style, but it's harder since the coordinating your hand with the tablet and your eye with the screen is always something that's thrown me off. XP

that's the one thing I can do; except my tablet isnt in front of me, it's off to the side. Like parallel to the computer by its left. It's annoying with a small worktop space @_@

I usually have mine on my lap. I prefer to draw on couches/comfy chairs, which can get confusing and uncomfortable with a tablet. XP

so its always a large surface area that can accompany my computer and my tablet

Me too.
A nekomata is a split-tailed cat demon from Japanese folklore. They're quite powerful, and some are even said to have necromantic powers, although the darker side of them was obviously left out of Espeon's design.
