Description Belle!

She's a personal side project painting of mine I really like how I did the hair, and have that to thank to *Decarabia69 who suggested I use masking fluid in my paintings. The wings were a really spontaneous thing - at first they were entirely yellow, and I didn't really want to add any detail, but then they just looked too big and blase... so I changed them. I'm really glad about how they turned out, because I didn't plan it at all. Actually that's a good way to describe this painting - I didn't focus too much on controlling the paint, I just let it flow!

Enjoy!

LOL! DRUG FLOWERS!

Thanks I'm glad you like her wings hehe! It is another watercolour fairy. Masking fluid or Liquid frisket, they are the same thing with two names, is this white liquidy stuff that comes in a small bottle. Anyway, you painting it over an area you want to remain white, and it hardens into a kind of rubbery yellow stuff (like snot from your nose haha) and rubs away when you're done painting over it. Very useful stuff X3

Hey! Thanks for the kudos r.e. the liquid frisket!

This turned out especially nice, but it's all because of your mastery of the wash. I love everything about this painting, the pose of the subject, the flowers she's sniffing, the toadstool and the wonderful background. I really liked how you took the painting out of frame with the wing tips too!

Just remember NOT to touch your nose while using liquid frisket!

Those wings are truly bangin'. How original! They make me think that she's some kind of moon fairy, because they're all shaped like crescent moons! In addition, I really love the colours and the composition (of course I would, it being so art nouveau and all ). Her hair is really lovely as well, very Romanesque! Also, bluebells are so pretty - they add win to just about anything.

Thankyou so much! They do look like crescents haha! Yup, I was going for an art nouveau feel, I love the style to death Her hair was a lot of fun to do, and largely an experiment with masking fluid lol, I like how it turned out too!
