Description Some sketches I did this week. My friend, Britt--~soak-in-surreal --told me to upload the first one of these to DA. She made an expression like she was going to be sad if I didn't XD so I am uploading it now. The last one is of my character Charlie from that novel I wrote >> the fade out is terrible in this scan D:

Sigh, I know my art's been sucking lately... I don't see a lot of improvement this year... but I've been drawing non-stop, over 4 hours straight everyday so hopefully I'll see some progress soon XD

As always, I love the detailed shading, the detailed and deliberate hairstyles, and the folds and loose sleeves you draw and how realistically they drape on arms. My favorite aspect of this, though, is probably the little headshot kinda in the middle, of the guy saying "this makes all kinds of non-sense." I know it's the smallest one, and the others are wonderful. But I like the expression a lot, kinda attentive but...exasperated. Very cool. : )

Good job on the shading^^, I know I havent commented in a while sorry bout that, but really nice work here, even for sketches. There is one thing that I want you to keep in mind though^^, make sure you keep your hand positions in mind when you do things like how you did em on the third picture down. It would be cool if it was another persons left hand touching the lips, but its that characters right hand touching her own lips.
love the sketch though, nice detail, and shading just the way I love it^^ keep up the good work. Practice makes perfect

I really like the composition on the first one: nicely done with the circles and moon-shaped objects i didn't even notice the weel until a while ago, on that, it's so blended in the bg, yet it looks perfect!

Lovely sketches. I do believe that you're improving. One thing I do find odd is the "thinking" girl's hand... x_x I'm sorry. It looks off... it's connected to the right but the hand looks like the left hand (the thumb is facing the left). Sorry

Well, that's why it's called a sketch, right?

I'm not sure who to ask this: is inking on paper faster, or is inking digitally faster?

But it would have been devastating if you hadn't! I love all of the designs and how beautifully arranged they are. I think it appeals to the jewelry designer-ishness in me. And I love gears! (I made a small gear-like thing out of metal today. I'll have to tote it around until I can show ya. )

hmmm you know if you made a scarp book of your ideas, just some sketches and you handed it to me and said that there is a world in these pages I would believe you. Its like your ideas come through very clearly ^^

Aww, I'm sorry that you don't think you've been improving. If it makes you feel any better, I always think your art is lovely and it brightens my day to see it!!

I really like the middle and last ones the best, the one of the girl with 'thinking' pose and of Charlie, especially that fade-out effect! That looks so neat.
And the details on the outfit of the first person look so nice and rich. Very nice!

Do your sketches normally have spoofs and rambles written on them? (I know mine do..! xD)

interesting in how you're simplifying human form into basic shapes while maintaining a style. i dunno if its lack of skill, seems more like exploration to me.

Yeah, I think the circle one on top is my favorite. Circles are my favorite shapes. I like curves : )

LOL, the only thing is that my hand is beginning to hurt XD
