Because lineart hates me and I have to be good at something! Seriously, have you ever seen me try doing actual lineart? No? Well, There's a reason why you haven't!
Also, having too many layers up at once makes me anxious and I find it easier to fix mistakes when you don't have to jump from layer to layer to adjust everything-
