Description I drove too many miles and put too much effort in not submit a shot from my recent trip into cornwall.

To be honest it was just great to spend a weekend on a misson taking images.

These buildings are remnants of cornwalls past tin mining, they are the engine houses left from the tin mines that extended up to three miles out under the atlantic, no mean feet for engineers of the 19th century, it was a hard exisitence for the individuals that worked these mines...

botallack is much photographed, i spent my first hour there 3/4 of the way down one of the cliffs that face the mine bulidings, perched on an 80%+ gradient determined to get a unique composition, the only reason i didnt make it to sea level was because i decided the climb was too dangerous with camera gear. Turned out i ended up climbing down anyway as i cleverly managed to drop two of my lee filters off the ledge i was on.....

This shot is from a more tradtionally photographed composition, although i have not seen a shot that includes the yellow lichen on the black rock in the foreground seen here.

So although i got better shots than my first trip to botallack with a camera, it still is a work in progress for me....

Black and white suited this shot best....

btw im aware of what appears to be distortion on the second building, i cant work it out or correct it...it always seems the same when shot from this angle...
