Phantump are quite illusive creatures. They are rarely seen to the public eye, preferring to live in dense swamps and forests. With a huge boom in deforestation though, Phantump have been commonly seen in areas where trees have been cut down. Old wive's tales have it that Phantump are tree stumps possessed by children who have wandered off into the woods and died. This is just myth though to scare children into avoiding dense tree areas and to not wander off.
