been using a computer mouse since i was six years old. that was eight years ago, and only five years ago i started really getting into digital art - coincidentally the time i made my first deviantART account. 

my thoughts? it is not the medium which makes the artist good, it is how much they have practiced, their hand-to-eye coordination, and the art techniques they apply. 

just as long as i can continue drawing properly, i'll use anything i can lay my grubby little paws on.

Thats true and I agree, however its often nice to have a tablet to make it easier and improve efficiency. I also know I've improved my style a lot more with my tablet than I did with a mouse. 
It's not necessary, but I often recommend that people buy even just a cheep little tablet to start off with. Even if you can do it without, theres no reason to limit yourself tool-wise.

i agree, it does make it easier by a lot. unfortunately i never got the hang of it when my sister allowed me to use her tablet once in a while.

nowadays if i want my lines to look fabulously thicc in digital art i just use the linework layer thing on ptsai and work on the pressure on certain parts of the line. it's a bit confusing at times, but it works!

i might get a tablet one day, but for now i'm comfortable.

I've been using a computer mouse for about 2 years. I got a drawing tablet, but it broke in about 3 months. o_o I got into digital art when I first got on DA too.

I think I'm better at traditional art. I've improved a lot using traditional art and I'm still improving.

ah, jeez. you had the same problem my sister did - her tablets (i think they were monoprice tablets, which i don't think are very reliable in the first place) had their cords and boards break and die within a few months of use. they did make her lineart look very flowy and cool though.

i'm better at traditional art too. the best art in my gallery (doodle, mayhem smash, and 030034) were traditional, and i just scanned them. in fact, to practice what i've learned from tutorials and to draw gestures i use traditional because it's honestly faster for me.

i'm glad you're improving. it's always nice to practice and get better!

I like to do traditional art more now than digital art because I don't have a good program to use, and my hand hurts when I use the mouse for too long. I like the special effects you can do digitally though. I'm improving on paper before I improve on digital.
