Ethos loves to paint, he has ever since he was a small child when he first started to take interest in books with words describing amazing and wonderous faraway places that, at the time, only existed in his imagination. If he can picture it, he can paint it~

Ethos was told by his mother, now deceased, that he had always loved the sound of a piano, ever since he was an infant he would lay in his cradle or his mothers lap while she played for him and he would always be lulled to sleep by her gentle lullaby's. He uses the music to express himself in ways he finds difficult to express in words to others. And started to play at a very young age.

Ethos started Fencing when he was a young teenager, not really taking interest in it until he was older when he began to Fence more often. While he is concentrating on his opponent his worries escape him and there is nothing else in the world, much like what happens whenever he indulges himself in the adventures hidden inside a story book. He is exceptionally skilled.

Personality

Ethos dislikes solitude the majority of the time, but at the same time is quite unsociable and isn't very good with making friends. He has a hard time opening up to people and sometimes seems cold and bitter, but in reality is actually just very lonely. The typical unicorn is shy and prefers solitude to company but not Ethos. When he is most lonely he will hide himself away in the palace library where he loses himself in the stories of faraway places told of in the books he so enjoys and envisions in his head. He looks up to and admires Ayre, the god of Summer and wishes he could live in those tropical colorful Kingdoms though he loves his Kingdom and the people in it dearly the landscape and all around atmosphere of the Frozen Wonderland he calls home sometimes makes him feel even more lonesome and bitter. But Ethos can be cheerful when given the right incentive (being in Elavernis teaching Freyr or chatting with Ilquinis or visiting Ayre in Alora, but only for short periods of time since the heat gets to him >v>'; ) He absolutely adores spending time in Ilquinis' garden talking with him, and wishes he could stand the heat so he could visit Ayre more often, because the man was like a father to him for many years. Just because he envied him didn't mean that he didn't still feel that way.

History

Ethos at a very young age had been mistaken for a girl many a time. Not because of his long hair or his feminine face, but because of the way his mother dressed him. When he had been born his father was ecstatic, a baby boy to call his own and be proud of. But his mother was much less accepting, having wanted a baby girl to dote on and dress up and share things with. But she thought that they could simply try again, and she could love her son just the same. But then she was told she had been so damaged during the birthing, that she could never have another child again. Heartbroken and crestfallen the Lady of the house became quite depressed, unable to look at her own son and not see the daughter she had always craved. Until one day she simply took him into her room and dressed him as a girl. With a pretty pink dress and a little red ribbon to tie his hair up, he looked like the daughter she had always envisioned. Ethos was much to young to understand that this wasnt normal, and that there was something wrong with his mother and so he let it continue. When his father stumbled across Ethos one day dressed as a girl, he was first very angry with his wife, until she began to refer to their little boy as Ethyr, their daughter. He realized what was wrong immediately, remembering his wife's need for a daughter and he was torn. He sought help for her, the best there was, but nothing could cure this mental trauma. Ethos told his father one day when he was about to give up hope, that he would gladly and willingly dress this way if it would help mother feel better. And so he did until a few months after his thirteenth birthday. His mother passed away, apparently she had been hiding an illness she had had for a while caused by the difficulties she had during Ethos' birth. Heartbroken and angry with himself for not being able to save his wife, Ethos father went into battle during the war, fighting and taking out his anger and frustration and self loathing during the fight....but alas, it ended with his death. His horn and his armor along with his sword were sent home to his only remaining family, little Ethos only thirteen years old.

Young and alone Ethos didn't know where to turn, and found himself lost without his parents. With no one to guide him or care for him he couldn't find his way. He wandered around for quite some time fending for himself until he was stumbled upon while he was hiding under a tree's uprooted trunk for warmth and shelter, by Lady Mei the Goddess of Lumeria. Taking pity on the poor child Mei brought him to the Lumerian palace where he was cleaned up and given proper clothing and some food. Mei, being the kind leader that she was, allowed the poor boy to stay until she could find a family to take him in. Ethos however, got rather attatched to Lady Mei and thought of her as the caring mother who cared for 'him' and not some other persona that he had never had. Eventually she saw how devoted the young Unicorn was to both her and his country. He loved her and his people dearly and wished to do all he could to keep them safe. Seeing his drive for success and his ever growing love for his country Lady Mei appointed Ethos Leader of Lumeria at the tender age of Sixteen only two years after finding him and raising him. He has been ruling Lumeria ever since with a kind heart but a firm standing on his beliefs and the needs of his people.

Though one lonesome evening when he was attempting to lose himself in his books, and failing, he noticed a dove sitting on the windowsill outside of the library window right next to himself. So he opened the window only to realize that it had hurt its leg landing on the icy windowsill and so he let her in. He brought her over to the sofa he had been seated in and sat her down on a cushion next to him, taking care of her and eventually just started to talk, about his feelings his worries and dreams, just everything he had never been able to tell another person. He opened up to the little dove, and immediately felt attatched. Though he let her go once she was better, and felt regretful to see her go. But she returned the next day, and the day after that and so forth to that same window to visit, and eventually never left again. She has a bit of an attitude, and appears to look down her beak at everyone other than Ethos, but he loves her to death, she is his dearest friend.

And the day she stayed was the day he gave her the name Eve.

Additional Info
Ethos teaches piano to Freyr the Prince of Elavernis on days when he is not so busy with his duties and enjoys every moment he gets to spend teaching the young prince. To see someone so young interested in such a wonderful instrument inspired him and he vowed to make sure this boy made beautiful music one day.

The Ribbon that ties his hair up in a pony tail was given to him by his fencing instructor, who was amused with his antics when he would trip over his own hair when attempting to practice, but gave him the ribbon so they could actually make some progress.

The hilt of his fencing sword was custom made out of the horns of his deceased parents, to keep them close to him and to protect him in battle.

He admires and envies Ayre the God of Alora~ He wishes he could take the heat of the summer country so that he could stay there for long periods of time~

He respects Ilquinis the God of Elavernis, country of spring, for his devotion to his little brothers and the kindness he showed him with the simple gift of a single blue rose~

He looks at Lady Mei Goddess of Lumeria as a mother figure, and would do absolutely anything for her.
