Description
Hey guys!!I am so glad to be back after being inactive for months...
Besides being back, I've been brushing up my digital skills and learned to paint in photoshop!
I really love to see your comments and tell me what you think about this one!
though i know most of my watchers aren't familiar with this character. Her name is Ahri (leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki… and she is a playable champion in League of Legends (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/League_o…
I really appreciate a little comment to see if I should continue this style, but I'll still be doing my previous style, depends on what fan art I'll be making

I would say that you should continue this style if it feels like yours
You have talent for it so more practice and you'll be pro digital artist.
I like how you have done shading, especially on her top (or is it the top part of the dress? xD idk)
I also like how you have used shine effects in the dress. Did you use specific layer mode for that?
Also the tails look gorgeous!
As a player of LoL and I also like to play Ahri a lot, I'm curious to know did you use the original art work or the 3d model (or maybe both) as reference?
As for the skin shading, maybe you should try to use darker shades in places like under the jaw and chin? Darker shades would give your skin shading more dimensions.
One thing I have found hard to master is the lighting and shadows. In my art school teachers talked about how cold light creates warm colored shadows and vice versa.
You have this cold blue light coming from left, but to my eye the color of skin's shadow is rather cold too. (of course everybody sees colors differently and there is no
right way of doing things)
Also what I think would bring some life to the drawing is experimenting on colors, that there are more shades of colors on skin (or on any surface) than just 4-6. (here is rather small but good tutorial on
skin Skin Tutorial )
Because color is
basically light that shines from the object that we see as a color. This is why if you place your hand near a red paper (in well lit place) you can see some red color on your hand.
I think the golden glow of the lower part of the dress is done perfectly. This piece in general is well done and great. I hope you keep on practicing your digital painting.
I'm sorry if this was too boring to read, but I am really fascinated about your work here. It has a lot of potential.
I'm still practicing my digital painting and is nowhere near as good as pros but I'm getting there little by little.
I have found useful to watch League of Legends Champion Art Spotlights on Youtube ( here is one on Diana ) (and also other speedpaintings are useful too)
It really made me understand that everybody has their own style of drawing and painting, and still the result can be as good as in the other styles.
I also hope that this comment helps you along the way, 'cause I want to give people proper comments and critique, since I think most of us are here to improve their skills.

Thank you so much for letting me know your thoughts about this fanart! And no, I don't find your comment boring, not even a bit
it's always a common mistake when coloring/painting the skin, i keep forgetting that there are a lot more shades that just the usual flesh tone..
Whenever I am bored or have nothing to paint, I would often watch the LoL art spotlights to get me inspired to do make something like it. My favorite of all was Fiora's. But I don't think they make anymore of those art spotlights, I wanted to see Jinx's art spotlight so badly since Jinx is my main champ. Hahaha
About the light effects on her dress, i used a layer blending mode for that, though i don't remember the name...
Again, thank you so much for your comment, and I am sure I'll improve my future works with your help!
