Alright, so one too many comments of "This Subeta pet was stolen from neopets!" Or "That pet looks a lot like ___!", I have gritted my teeth and decided to do a project called 'Origins' - where I show similar neopet and subeta pets, and inform the deluted population who believe that anything that represents something from neopets is instently stolen.

Part 1 - The Eyrie/Aerie{Or newly named, Irion}

Appearence

Both these pets have very similar appearence - long, feathered/furred ears, sharp beaks, lion like manes, bird wings. The only difference is while the Aerie{Irion} has claws fore paws, the Eyrie does not.

Since the Eyrie was released first, people claim that the Aerie{Irion} was stolen from it. Of course, people believe that even if the pet WASN'T released first, it was still stolen.

But truth is, both are based off a mythological creature which existed long before even the internet...

The Griffin/Gryphon

The griffin is a legendary creature with the body of a lion and the head and often wings of an eagle.

Most contemporary illustrations give the griffin the forelegs of an eagle, with an eagle's legs and talons, although in some older illustrations it has a lion's forelimbs; it generally has a lion's hindquarters. Its eagle's head is conventionally given prominent ears; these are sometimes described as the lion's ears, but are often elongated (more like a horse's), and are sometimes feathered.
