Looks great!   When you say it is 99% accurate, do you know what tiny aspect is not correct??

Well, first the shape of the animals, may not be completely correct (because I'm not an expert drawing animals ), the background of the image although it is based on a Norwegian landscape, does not correspond to an existing place.
The color of the grass, the person who guided me, told me that at the time of the year which we represented, mid-summer, the grass had a bright green lime color, unfortunately with my watercolors I did not achieve that shade of green .
The house, well I did not have a guide for the interior so the wooden columns that look inside are a bit my way of interpreting the interior.
also the wooden beams that are outside holding the outer wall, is an aspect that I see in several reproductions of Medieval nordic houses but most of all they are an artistic license that I gave myself .

Thanks you so much and Im glad you liked it

Wow!  I am impressed with your level of commitment and research to try and give us an accurate look into the past!

I have always liked the historical accuracy but it would be false to say that everything has been my job, I mean, I drew but the eye on the small details was thanks to the good guide.

On a number of occasions I have been asked to illustrate something outside my areas of knowledge and though I enjoyed the influx of new information I found it creatively inhibiting.  Not knowing what I can and cannot portray made it very hard to feel comfortable to focus on making a good image for the client.  Though I might want to run wild with an idea I would have concerns that I was making some big regrettable error, so then I might end up making something more conservative and bound to whatever reference material I had.  A good art director (or historical guide in your case) can make a big difference in helping the artist create something both interesting to look at and accurate.

Another challenge I have found is that information changes over time and what may have been considered accurate at one point might not be considered so tomorrow.  Years ago I illustrated a book about dinosaurs, about halfway through the project it was becoming a more popular idea that dinosaurs were covered in feathers.  So, then I had to start making changes to reflect this!

I think this is one of the reasons I have enjoyed fantasy subjects, I am more free to focus on the image without so much concern about it being incorrect.

Yes, in that cases you really have to keep your artistic licenses to a minimum and work more than anything with what they give you. In my case several times I have asked for some drawing, usually people have a very vague idea of what they want, even if you ask them several times, they only tell you generalities and when they see the finished work they say: "hum this is not what I expected" that really kills me.
Fortunately now, the person I am working with has clear ideas and is the kind of person you can work step by step, that makes me happy.

SURE! in the case of archeology, the more you go to the past, the more you have the risk that what you draw in a couple of years will be refuted.

Yes, in fact in all cases I always find it better to draw more based on fantasy, that allows you to do what you want.
