Yes, it was a decision I made to exclude the hands, lower legs and face to invite the viewer to decide what is happening in the picture.

the hands are a part of the body just like the head is or the left boob or the belly button,
this kind of work looks as if you're trying to avoid something that is harder for you to do, (that's how it usually is with hands, people see them as harder to draw)
by the way, i hope you won't take it the wrong way, the fact that i'm commenting on your work is because i like it.
and the missing hands are really bugging me because these could be good drawings. now you just look like you have hand issues

Well I can see what you mean. But the idea of the hands is not because I don't like drawing hands. On my original sketch he does have hands.
The thing is that the hands will give away the intentions so fast. If I drew the hands relaxed then the whole image will change and if I drew them holding tight, the image will give more of a stressed and angry feeling.
Now my intentions aren't to give away that much, one thing that I love is when you, the beholder, is creating your own feelings towards the painting. That tells more about you than you describing it. You have judged the painting after your own experience and knowledge.
I love this. You recieved the feeling of me being bad at drawing hands, why? What is your own experience with this? Did you do that?
That is the interesting part! And no, you don't have to answer the questions. It's just my example.
