I agree with you. Besides I think if it was an AU then they would have done an episode at some point on how they met.

Definitely not the only one.Ā I can see it working for sure, but that space between the movie and show is interesting to speculate!

Nice pic xD The thing that really separates the show from the movie is of course....personality. Say what you want about Beej but Lydia is the biggest change. She was so depressed and dark, and well she is still dark in the toon but like in a wears black and enjoys spiders kinda way not suicidal.

Thank you. ^_^ True, yes, but by the end of the movie she's close to cartoon-verse Lydia; she's really happy and smiling. I just think given a YEAR she has it in her to change, especially at that age. Especially with B's help. Plus I think a lot of it was just her being dramatic, and Lydia can be very theatrical at times. XD

The thing is though, Lydia was de-aged (as in, made younger) for the cartoon. She is 16 or so in the film (as was actress Winona Ryder, who played her), whereas the cartoon version (played by Alyson Court) directly stated she was in 7th-grade in the second episode, thereby making her 12 or so.

LOVE IT. I Hope you do more of these. I like the idea of you drawing scenes from the movie in the Cartoon style.

Haha, I'm just sorting through what scenes to do now but I'm not sure. I don't know what ones people would like to see. ; 3;

I think what would be cool to see is either when BJ is a snake and see's Lydia. or when BJ plays charades with Lydia to guess his name. or when he comes out of the grave.
or you can watch the film again and pick the scenes that you like the best, and then draw them

So awesome. I love his little thumbs up. XD
I'm a huge advocate of mixing the movie verse and the cartoon verse. I think it can be done smoothly.

There's a really old script floating out there somewhere that shows a lot of things that didn't make it into the movie but were in the cartoon. I agree that they have more to do with each other than people give them credit for. The only HUGE difference is that Adam and Barbara went away, but it seems the writers of the cartoon attempted to smoosh them into Mr. and Mrs. Deetz.
...Also, I love the way you drew their expressions. :-D

I'm amazed that I found a version online that fast. It was a darker script.

"Cathy" and Lydia were smooshed into one character for the film, but a lot of what Cathy does and is in the script wound up things Lydia does and is in the cartoon.

Be glad Beej didn't rape Lyds and maul Cathy in the form of a rapid squirrel like the original screenplay called for.
