This is a deliciously weird composition (that is a good thing! I hope I am not being offensive). I'm not familiar with the source material, but this character has a mysterious, almost creepy feel. The lights from the bugs are really well done. I would love to see their lights reflecting on the coat of the main character. Maybe some yellow highlights along its back and back leg from the right bug, and some on his face, hands, and feet from the left bug. Really cool picture, awesome work!
