Description ...because friendship rocks.

Sorry for half-assed sketch, I rushed myself a bit with this one, since I'm working - or at least trying to work - different project

Finally, the Maud has come back to Ponyville!

Anyway quite enjoyable episode, Pinkie's antics were fun as usual, also her character
really felt even more cartoonish in terms of her movement and body language, constantly shifting
forms and overall being very dynamic All in all it was very enjoyful Maud episode, in which
her deadpan and a matter of fact statements did some really nice job to deliver some humour,
also I was really surprised with addition of Starlight to the story. Part of me was kind of taken
aback by her sudden involvement, however we could see more of the dynamic between her and other characters
when the story isn't centered directly around her, and even though to me it kinda felt too soon
for her to appear again I would say this kind of story was a step into right direction to develope her character bit more
I just hope that Starlight befirending anypony mane 6 couldn't isn't becoming an ongoing pattern because that could feel bit forced.
Also, Muffins got smacked with pizza. Another point if you ask me. Yes, I am a jerk.

Episode Ranking so far:

1) Celestial Advice ( ep1 )
2) Flurry of Emotions ( ep3 )
3) Rock Solid Friendship ( ep4 )
4) All Bottled Up ( ep2 )

An almost perfect episode but I still scratch my head with that casual encounter of the past.

It actually adds hilarity to it. Only in cartoons some funny interactions can lead to tragic results

<3 Maud.

I found it a little hard to watch Pinkie's antics myself. I love her character but this is a side of her I would have difficulty being around myself. Maud handles it admirably. Wonderful to see Maud making friends with Starlight though!

Actually, this means Starlight has made a few new friends now. I wonder if we'll see a finale with all the ponies Starlight had befriended. First Starburst, then Trixie and now Maud. Anyway, will be interesting to see if that pattern continues.

Oh, and while I think Pinkie was a little mean (and should make it up to Derpy later - as I expect she will), our Derp horse seemed to take it well enough, and got free pizza too so that's something .

Well I do hope it won't be a trend, but Starlight certainly needs appearances like that - not in focus, just let her interact

I'm sure it won't. It's nice to have episodes which show the main characters flaws, even I find it hard to watch. And I'm sure we'll see more of Starlight in the coming episodes.

Ah, yeah Pinkie being quite...invasive like that. Indeed I like that as well, after all no one's perfect, and I'm pretty sure Pinkie seems to be quite prone to that kind of behaviour - like in Fani Vanilly in season 4

Yeah. Throwing a party for Twilight in the pilot (when she really just wanted to read) is a classic example. And the episode where she tries to cheer up that grumpy old donkey. I think this case was exceptional though. She's usually pretty good when it comes to helping people make friends lol, I think she was particularly insecure because of what was at stake (her sister wanting to live in Ponyville or not).

Well, I feel it's quite established that out of all Pie sibilings, Pinkie and Maud are quite close, and really apprecieate each other's company. I guess Pinkie stressed herself so much just to make it 200% sure that Maud will have a friend and stay in Ponyville

Pretty much, yeah ^^. In a way it's nice to see just how they care about each other in that sense .

Indeed, also it's nice how over those few seasons they were able to portray that with Maud given her seemingly emotionless personality

I love Maud, I found her very relatable, it was nice to see a character that is represented in that way ^^.

For the most of the time it was about her being the comedic device, but indeed this one was probably the first reall time to portray her as full fledged character - but of course I love her humorous moments ^^

I agree with most points. But not Derpy abuse, I can't abide that.

SoC: Rock Solid FriendshipThe number seven is a powerful number. In the Bible it is considered the perfect number and appears several times in the Good Book. There are seven seals, seven trumpets, seven angels, etc. Then there is something in the Bible related to the number seven that applies to all, religious or not, seven days (i.e. God rested on the seventh day). What does this have to do with us? It is the seventh day of the week that we get another episode of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic (and I also get to rest with the closing of this day). This week it looks like we get a Maud episode. Yes siree, everypony's favorite monotone deadpan Mare! I had another rough Saturday so hopefully my tiredness doesn't hinder this week's Stream Of Conscience review. I'm just going to jump into it and start Rock Solid Friendship (note: I decided that I'm going to reduce my screenshots):

"Pinkie's antics were fun as usual, also her characterΒ really felt even more cartoonish in terms of her movement and body language, constantly shiftingΒ forms and overall being very dynamic"
Why is this a good thing? I haven't watched the show in years anymore, and even if I had, this is just a subjective opinion, but in the beginnign the show was quite internally realistic and while we know it's not real , the show internally presented itslf as a 'real' place. As time went on, characters and events became more and more surreal and flanderized and with something like this the show is 'saying' that it's just a cartoon after all.Β
But, obviously, people who still watch the show like the show for what it is and there's nothing wrong with that.

I never took the show for more than it is. Perhaps that's the reason I am still able to enjoy it.

Probably. I'd claim that it was "more" than it was supposed to be before and, isnΒ΄t now. But, again, this is not objective and it's good if you love it. I still follow good fanwork, like yours

I won't disagree that show has changed over time, but that's natural turn of events after those few years, and I do understand that it may not be everyone's cup of tea Anyway, I'm glad that all in all you enjoy some stuff I doodle here and there ^^

You just made a The Rock joke. About Maud. I love you!

Also was a really good episode. This makes it the second good glimglam episode this season to accompany the one with Trixie. She's... actually pretty likable by now. Also any episode that has a morale of "Shut the hay up, Pinkie" is good in my book.

Yeah, I think this maybe my most favourite episode with Maud since her debut, they developed her character nicely, and despite being too nosy Pinkie was fine as well. As for Starlight, I do like the idea of her being nerd about kites, adds another wrinkle to her character, that's exactly kind of episodes she needs at the moment - don't shove her into focus with drama, have her included in smaller portions and show how she interacts around other ponies in more standard situations. It worked for other characters it should work for her as well.

I also think that Starlight Glimmer gives a nice bluntness to the character dynamic. She's very intelligent, but she's also as subtle as a shovel in the face. I really wasn't a fan of Maud thanks to the two mediocre episodes after her debut, but this ep was really good, including the characterisations and oh Celestia the backgrounds have turned gorgeous. First the cavern, then the forest. So good.Β

Still can't stop thinking of Glimmer as a sassy middle-aged AA woman named Letisha trapped inside the body of a pony. <3

Some folks compare Starlight to Twilight from season 1 and 2, because the supposed snarkiness of her character - I kind of disagree on that, I don't really see Starlight having that much of a snarky attitude at all, but still she can be bit blunt indeed

I've heard abou it, and honestly I'm a bit torn - half of me is tempted by watching them early, but it would be nice to leave something to watch for the upcoming weeks
But knowing my weak will, I probably will watch them xD
