EDIT!!!! I'm sooo excited!!!! My it received Gallery of the day at E2046.com!!!!! ^_^ [link]Which basically means I get a special feature!!!!
I just completed her today!!!
She was a bit of a pain, I had quite a few problems with one earring that kept breaking, an arm/hand not fitting right (the one holding the sash, and se did not want to attach to the base forever!!! The glue just did not want to bond there no matter what I did!!
However, I am quite happy with her... I think all colors were exactly as I hoped they would be! This was also my first time attempting pearl color... I mixed white pearl with various colors to use here... pearl was used on: crystal base, earrings, blue part of the dress, shirt of dress, and slightly on her sash. Also, for some gloss on her eyes and shoes I used a clear nail polish, but I still need to seal her with the matte finish so will need to gloss again.

I used Acrylic paint, and all is handbrushed.
Colors/brands used:
Apple Barrel: White, black, pink parfait, bright red, true blue, royal violet
Americana: Royal Fuchsia
Ceramcoat: Met. Silver and Gold, Pearl finish, and Fleshtone
I will upload some more pictures soon, some close up of her face and other shots...

Uhm, I used glue lol... I use a super glue *type* of stuff, but it's hobby lobby off-brand lol. Mine is sth like "extreme hold thick" lol there's thin, thick etc... I chose thick just b/c I've had bad experiences with super glue being so thin and running all over T_T it's still not really THAT thick but it's not super runny either...
some people like to drill pinholes and pin the figure to the base, but you have to do it carefully or you could drill through the figure or damage it etc...
So far all of my kits have held up from the glue, but who knows years down the road... like I said, some people pin them so they can easily take them apart for repairs or travel, etc... but I'm too scared to atm lol... I know one person said they use those large paper clips cut up as their pin rods... *if you wanted to try it*
I has to basically hold her on until I could get the base to stay "stuck" to her, then I think I carefully propped her up so that she could finish setting... but I can't really remember

*shakes fist at two part stuff* and I hate the strong odors from some I've tried X.x lol
I'd say just try it, I'd like to try pinning and/or airbrushing someday but lately I have not even touched my kits except to move them out of the way lol so yeah...

Well, there is some work involved, cleaning, sanding,primer, painting, assembling. But it's the same as with any other kit/models to build...
Actually, I just use acrylics after primering... but people use enamels and other different kinds of paint, too. In a way it is hard, or rather, it's mostly time consuming... and it depends on how much you have to do for each kit, I've had some much harder to piece together than others though I have not made very many.

actually, I mixed a few colors to make her shirt color...
I know one is a "pearl" color, which gives it that pearl shine, otherwise it was some reds/pinks and a little bit of orange I think... wish I could help more but I really just mixed colors I thought might work until I got something I really liked...

well, conversions could simply be finding a chara with a similar hairstyle, and the a chara with a similar outfit... and they have to be the same scale but... some seem a bit easier, tho I think Nehelenia would be a bit difficult...

Well for first version of Titan I could use SM without the long bits, after that it's anyone's guess who would work, her hair changes a lot.

Well, if you decided to join a forum, you might be able to post a pic (or various ones) and some people have seen many kits or know various charas and can help you out ^_^ If they know some chara with a similar hair style to what you're looking for...
I recently asked about cowgirl kits... and people were able to suggest a few that weren't listed under "cowgirl" b/c they're under a specific name or show..
