Made of lead....*laughs* I don't know what kg equals in pounds, but by the looks of him, is that weight light? Or is it heavy, so that you create irony and/or sarcasm?

he looks rather like st ignatos of loyola about to give the annual blessing of the cargo fleet as enshrined in the stained glass windows of my old church. although i could be wrong.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

saturninus In reply to fredfree [2005-11-22 08:00:03 +0000 UTC]

nono, your association is surprisingly fitting. he has the loyola quality on this, true.... and the scale-rosewindow makes him so contemporary, somehow. doesn't it?

le-pony [2005-11-21 00:08:22 +0000 UTC]

He probably ate too much of Mr. Navros' cookies.. HAHAHAH

I like this one, but I am irritated by the strange shadow, it looks like a photomanipulation and I wonder how you did this...
Anyways, very sympathetic portrait.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

saturninus In reply to le-pony [2005-11-21 08:12:27 +0000 UTC]

oh, I also want to eat much of Mr Navros' cookies...... although the plane wouldn't take me back to Budapest with almost 7 tons..... but that is not such a big problem, either.

nonono, no photomanipulation whatsoever!
which strange shadow? everything is real that you see here. only the light conditions were a bit special, but that was due to the environment, not me....

thank you.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

le-pony In reply to saturninus [2005-11-21 18:40:36 +0000 UTC]

Well, to me it seemed as if you had cut him from another photograph and then pasted him in front of the display and then added a shadow behind him with the wonderful photoshop effect "shadow"...

Thanks for calming me down that no magic was involved!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

saturninus In reply to le-pony [2005-11-21 22:14:53 +0000 UTC]

oh nononono, I maybe would have done it two years ago, but not now, not now!!!!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

Navros [2005-11-20 13:13:44 +0000 UTC]

oh,
on this one the typical nikon grain
comes quite nicely. even though it
is such a disturbing quality of a real
camera, it is quite adding here.
then as well, white balance seems to
be giving him a quite preferrable look
of lifelessness; didn't drink enough?

no but really, it's quite a nice emotive
portrait [maybe a bit conceptual, eh]
and i always like old industrial details.
oh yes, and he looks quite favourably
vulnerable and lost. lost in weight.

oh yes, and it looks so much like an
artificial composition of background
and foreground. maybe because of the
light.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

saturninus In reply to Navros [2005-11-20 22:49:03 +0000 UTC]

artificial and spontaneous at the same time. this is the wonder of photo sessions at a place like this.

lead boys don't drink, but are quite lively instead of lifeless.

and don't even menion nikon grain, because sometimes I could smash the camera because of it....... [not now, though]

just a pinch of conceptuality never does any harm.
