How is it illogical if we don't know anything about them? We've seen from the show that the color and type of the parents don't affect how the child looks so there's nothing to be said about how Pony A is this color and this type while Pony B is another color and another type.
In other words there's no reason why it should be illogical. Heck we could throw Colgate and BonBon in there as well and there's no way you could prove that it's "logical" or "illogical." As I said at the beginning, they're just background ponies. They have no story and they have no family officialy. So we can do whatever the heck we want with them.

Dinky and Sparkler are sisters, we know as much. We also know that Derpy is very young. So thinking that Derpy has a daughter the same age as herself is illogical to assume.

It's more logical to assume that if she's young that she doesn't have two daughters, one of which is as big as herself. That means that one of the daughters had grown up enough to match her size, while she's still attending the best young fliers competition.

Well first of all I'd still like to point out that the word "young" doesn't mean a specific age group, it's much too broad a term, and using that as your reasoning is hardly an excuse to be rude and bash on another.
Second, we don't know how fast these ponies grow. All we have to work it is adults (like Mr. and Mrs. Cake), older teenagers (like the mane six), and elementary schoolers (like the Cutie Mark Crusaders). We can also take note of the fact that Sparkler may or may not be big for her age. It's sounds stupid and nit-picky but the thing is we just don't know.
Third, no one said anything about Dinky and Sparkler being Derpy's kids. The fanart is of Derpy, Dr. Whooves, Dinky, and Sparkler all gathered on a couch, watching TV. A family moment? Sure. Having Dr. Whooves and Derpy as the parents of Dinky and Sparkler? Well if that's how you want to interpret it, sure. Unless the artist actually says that was his/her intention then you can't attack them for it.

I just think it's more logical to assume that Derpy doesn't have a kid her own size if she's so young. It'd be more logical to assume otherwise, perhaps you've heard of Occam's razor?

Let me restate that. Is this a family picture? YES. Did the artist say that Sparkler and Dinky were the children of Derpy and Dr. Whooves? NO. So for argument's sake, you really had no reason to leave a comment like that. In fact there was no reason to leave a comment like that in general but that's going on a whole other subject.
And your reasoning has failed to convince me so I don't see how Occam's razor applies. Your clinging to the word "Young" from the Young Fliers Competition. We don't know anything about that competition beyond the fact that it involves pegasi, Princess Celestia attends it, and the prize is a day with the Wonderbolts.

Derpy didn't only attend, she was part of the competition. Also, a day with the Wonderbolts doesn't seem like something older people want, it seems like a prize for younger people.

What I meant by Occam's razor was that, when you see a character in a show that's the same size as another character you shouldn't directly assume that one is the child of another. It's illogical to go straight for that conclusion.

Are you serious about your first point? It says it's a family picture, therefore the people in this image are related. What the fuck did you mean by that there aren't any reason Dinky and Sparkler are related.

I left a comment because too many people actually believe it's possible for Dinky and Sparkler to be Derpy's kid.

I just felt the need to say that. I see that you are clearly too upset to make coherent arguments, you barely made sense with that last post. I had to decrypt what it actually meant before trying to answer, I hope I didn't leave anything out, you incoherent rambling was hard to answer to so don't blame me if I couldn't. Since you're obviously too upset I'm going to leave this conversation now, I won't answer to anything more you write, because frankly, you won't try to listen so what's the point?

Oh my god, I didn't say it wasn't a family picture. I'm just gonna drop that whole point cause your missing it.
And if you want to talk about your personal feelings on a subject, go a fourm or a chatsite. Comments are supposed to be about artwork. Leaveing a comment stating the artist is stupid for thinking this or that is no different then those people who seem to deliberately find artwork of things they hate and then rant about how much they hate it in the comments, belittling anyone who likes that subject.
And yes, obviously adults are too mature to want to hang out with superstars for a day. That's obviously a think only a child would want. Seriously. We've seen whole stadiums filled with ponies admiring The Wonderbolts. Are you telling me only the younger ones in those stadiums are the only ones who would be excited about meeting them? I highly doubt that.
And it's stupid to think that the only why a character can be the son/daughter of another character is if that character's smaller than the other. That's not really how life works.
