Description This is a contest entry for whenpigsfly8992 . Oddly enough it doubles as my "Thank you for 200 views" piece
Random-REALLY?! Are you that lazy?!
SF-Well, it did take me two days to finish.
Random-Did you take forever on the grass?
SF-YES.

Either way, the piece is supposed to be called "Do you want to be my friend?" & consists of Aerith playing in a field with a chocobo. Really innocent when you consider that FF7 is basically "emo-fest 199-something". XD My favorite Final Fantasy games are actually not from the main series but if I were to choose it would look like this:
1)FF Tactics Advance
2)FF: Crystal Chronicles
3)FF XII
4)FF 1
5) FF 3

About 3 days worth of work on that section alone TAT (I really wanna learn how to do stained glass & make this into one). Hopefully I can post more chocobos in the future (those birds are SO CUTE XD)

I believe it Stained glass is very beautiful. I don't know if I'd have the patience to learn how to make actual stained glass, but I really like to use it in my drawings. And Chocobos are great. My first complete digital piece was a chocobo

I'm scared of burning myself (I had a geography teacher who used to do it for a living-she did basic things but they were still so pretty!). I honestly love it when people incorporate elements of it into their work since it's bold, detailed & draws your eye to it quickly (he's pretty awesome at it [link] )

Orly? Do you have it posted here?

Yeah, everything creative of which the tool isn't a pencil, feels dangerous to me
Oh, I love his work, I've seen it several times and keep going 'ooooooh thats sooo pretty '
As for me, it's not as obvious as his artwork - I never made a piece entirely stained glass like, I just incorporated it into scenes, using it as form of decorating, I guess (The windows: [link] - The round desk is stained glass inspired: [link] ).

XD It's the opposite for me-I shake too much when I try to draw something on the computer (I'm trying to save for a tablet though XD)

I've always noticed that in your work (you really like the little details in the scenery don't you? People should always pay attention to those)

The tablet will make it a lot easier If I didn't have mine, I wouldn't be drawing digitally.
Yes, the little details matter

Awww! So cute! I absolutely love the colouring!
I always wanted to play FF7 but never got the chance I only played Crystal Chronicles, Rings of Fate and Tactics Advance

I don't really like FF7 because too many people talk about it & the story wasn't that great to me at least-I like Chronicles because it has the possibility of expanding upon it's own universe.

LovableLuma In reply to SavageFrog [2012-01-01 10:55:10 +0000 UTC]

Oh I see I'm just curious to know what on earth goes on in the story because people talk about it soooo~ much. I sorta know about the characters and that's just about it.
Yeah, I enjoyed Chronicles a lot. Choosing your own characters or tribes and then traveling around the world :3 But it's been years since I've played. Tactics Advanced I enjoyed but never got finish! DX My file was always overrided by my younger sister. The buttons on the Game boy was fiddly so we always saved over each others files and we were at different levels and characters in the game so we either continued from there or started again. Eventually I gave up and never finished the game. Same goes for Rings of Fate.

Rings of fate was HARD! Anyways-FFVII starts with the story in Crisis Core-7 itself-Advent Children-Other random spin-off games. It's almost impossible to finish all 300 missions in Tactics A (I've tried)-did it once. Always murdered my bro for overwriting my file & I always tried to get a blue mage called Rodrigo for some reason. XD

It's cute :3 I love the characters- gnash is my favorite ^^ but it is hard DX Haha! I don't think I'll ever understand the story oh well, I'll just stick to the FF I know of. Whoa! 300 missions! I didn't know there were that many! Or may be I did but it's been a while so I've probably forgotten. Do you know what happens at the end?
Ahh~ I love the characters! Archers were my fav! Names were random though. I think I had a favorite too. But it's hard to train you're group when you get a lot of people requesting to join your team.

SavageFrog In reply to LovableLuma [2012-01-03 23:48:00 +0000 UTC]

I kept those that were special to me-characters with the same name as previous playthroughs were always at the top of my recruitment lists-also characters with pretty names & special characters. *SPOILER* They all return home & everything actually gets better. CONTINUATION (After defeating the final boss): After completing the 300 missions, you get Cid (and the game ends forever). Either way, if 6 people in your party are un lvl. 45, you can kill practically everything.

Oh, I see. Thanks for sharing. Now and then I just think back to the game and I wonder what would have happened if I ever did finish it XD
Ah~ I guess it's a happy ending

Aww, so cute. <3 Your cartoony style works very nicely, and fits the optimistic mood of both the picture and the characters. I do think the background might be a bit too detailed, however, and thus distracts a bit from the focus on the characters, but even there a lot of the detailing touches you use, like hatching lines on the crystal and clouds, are aesthetically pleasing in their own right.

SavageFrog In reply to Gojira007 [2011-12-30 20:28:38 +0000 UTC]

(I've been told this quite a few times but meh)I'm kind of obssessive like that-I wanted it to be a full scene & went nuts with the grass. I tend to concentrate more on backgrounds & sometimes forget that the characters are even there but overall, I'll post it if I like the end result.

Gojira007 In reply to SavageFrog [2011-12-30 20:51:14 +0000 UTC]

That's certainly fair, and ultimately it's what you believe is best for your work that should guide your thinking, but I'd recommend experimenting a little in the future; cutting back on the detail in the background, adding detail to the characters, etc. Doesn't have to be permanent or anything, just something you try out every now 'n' then to see what the results are like and if you feel it helps improve your style at all. Just my thought, though.
