Description So. After long time, I completed her. No idea how much time in total it took me

So here she is, Samus Aran, having beaten Ridley once again. But not the last time...

LOL Ridley got owned. I love the expression and body language with Samus here. She's like "hmph".

Well, thank you! I was trying to make her look like the boss of the situation, glad you noticed

Whoa. This is great.

Samus's pose is bad ass. And the setting is great, too. Ridley didn't just get pwned, he got SMASHED!! I like the blood leaking out of the rocks at the top. But the best part is Samus's bad ass pose, the colors, and her one visible eye--that really just tops the overall piece off!! Nicely done.

Thanks!

Imagine the inside under the rocks, then I'm also most proud of Samus here, she was the hardest to do out there. Glad you liked it!

Thank you once more for appreciating my work.

You're welcome, too! I like especially how you paint the picture of feelings in this poem.

I try. Lately the ideas haven't been coming to me in a poetic form, so I haven't uploaded anything for awhile.

That's rather unfortunate - I read through your hole gallery and I was overall impressed with your skill (commented on one as well). Or with your way or depicting things. But the urge or feeling to write is not coming always, I know because I have the same with writing prose.

It's odd how the ideas just come to my mind, then slip away if I'm not on my toes and ready to jot them down. They do like to run through my mind.

Using it as a highway well, maybe you should put there checkpoint for them?
But I know the "pain" very well, as I write myself too (not in English, unfortunately) and often have the idea, but before I write it down, it is no more that brilliant (if it still exists)

Yeah...like when the thought first comes around it's amazing, but when I'm sitting down hours later trying to remember it, it doesn't come out onto the paper the same way.

Savager7 In reply to shadowvaen [2011-03-24 14:38:13 +0000 UTC]

Awfully true, what you said. I've got something similar - when I have the idea, I automatically write it down as fast as I can not to change it anyhow or t forget anything - but when it's already on paper, I'm never really satisfied with the outcome.
But imagine what a world it would be, if everyone could write down his/her genius ideas/plots? I fear they would become ordinary. And that's why we pursue these little enlightments, even if they are always to slip out of our hands just when we're about to catch them

I think that's part of what makes writing phenomenal--the few times when you do get things to sound right are momentous! It makes it all the trickier.

Savager7 In reply to shadowvaen [2011-03-24 18:03:46 +0000 UTC]

And you never forget you had them, like some little treasures of oneself, never going to fade away.
Worthy to pursue then, aren't they?

shadowvaen In reply to Savager7 [2011-03-24 18:43:54 +0000 UTC]

Oh, very much so. Something worth chasing and striving for, something to devote oneself to, and something that can have very ugly or very beautiful results. In a lot of ways, you are what you write.

Savager7 In reply to shadowvaen [2011-03-24 20:42:36 +0000 UTC]

Fortunately we are not in the age when very often people died for what they wrote.
Now we can only run as fast as the wind to chase it. And even if you are not what you write, I think you want to be. You want to step into your own world.
And this feeling is what can keep you writing.

Whoa. It's amazing talking to someone who actually gets this whole writing thing...really.

Savager7 In reply to shadowvaen [2011-03-25 19:10:42 +0000 UTC]

Same here, dude, I was shocked. I did not feel I understand it the same way as someone, not ever.
Well, for both of us, doesn't that mean that we just have to keep going?
Off we go, then!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

shadowvaen In reply to Savager7 [2011-03-25 19:50:38 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. It sorta means that there's probably others who understand these things, and those people are just waiting to meet someone who understands.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Savager7 In reply to shadowvaen [2011-03-26 07:20:58 +0000 UTC]

Exactly. But you never know when/where, so it's great if you find at least one person like that, isn't it? Well, at least I am not very keen to believe in finding these others.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

shadowvaen In reply to Savager7 [2011-03-27 01:24:32 +0000 UTC]

The odds are quite against us finding a large number of people that understand this stuff. But as long as there are two the ideas are justified and legit.

heh. Even if he won'tbe , Samus has got an ultimate, extremely powerful solution to this - Load Game - Ridley shall be pwned, if not this time, then another

And funny thing is that Samus won't ever get rid of him (otherwise I won't play Metroid anymore ).

Aww, you're welcome!
I know right?

What I don't understand about Other M, is they have Ridley(), Phantoon, the METROID QUEEN, and Nightmare as bosses! WHERE IS FATTY?! >:U I WANNA BEAT UP KRAID!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Savager7 In reply to nyra711 [2011-03-13 21:06:57 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, they've got all the "big" stuff, all those bosses, but no green dragon Kraid. That's a bit disappointing and that's why I prefer Zero Mission over Other M.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

nyra711 In reply to Savager7 [2011-03-14 03:56:26 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I liked Other M, but there are certainly better Metroid games. It was good for the experiment that they were trying to pull off, and it had a lot of potential. That's just it though, it had a lot of untapped potential. Still though, it wasn't horrible like most people are making it out to be. Even though I liked the game, the Zero Punctuation review of it was just too good to hate

Savager7 In reply to nyra711 [2011-03-14 06:07:49 +0000 UTC]

True. Actually I couldn't get rid of thought that they did not push themselves to the limit when doing Other M, what is a shame - but doesn't make the game that bad, you're right and this review was like OMG that's awesome xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

nyra711 In reply to Savager7 [2011-03-14 22:02:47 +0000 UTC]

"Better yet, just play Metroid Prime and simulate the feeling of Other M by hiring a hooker to slam your head in a car door."
That has to be my favourite line from that review
