Description "Look at who you're up against. If you want to fight us, fine. Just ... don't blame me when your head's laying ten feet from the rest of you."

Dishonor Amongst Thieves was such a fun quest. 'Cept for the part when you find Palkeera's dead body - that wasn't so fun. After finishing the quest (the day it came out), I doodled up a handful of quest-related sketches and recently decided to finish this one.

So, this is my World Guardian, Finley Baanbreker (not her in-game name, but w/e). She's around 30 years old, the third eldest of nine siblings in a family of woodcutters and woodworkers, can swing an axe (or halberd...) like no tomorrow, is altruistic almost to a fault, and absolutely hates her job, but puts on an optimistic face and does her best. Growing up telling grand stories of knights and dragons to her younger siblings has made her a little prone to exaggeration - she'll often blow a situation out of proportion and second guess herself as a result. She's quite social and actively tries to be friendly and helpful to everyone (with the exception of a few select individuals), which quite often backfires, even on good days.

Regarding her garb; yeah, it's not exactly canon to what's in-game. I wanted to do a variation on the Pathfinder armor, since I thought it would be cool if the armor scaled to your defense level like the warpriest armors, gaining different additions of metals or other armor materials corresponding to those levels and your preferred combat style (in this case, rune). I don't think it would work in-game, for various reasons, but it seems to work in a story setting, especially for a wandering adventurer like Finely. She sort of scavenges from wherever she can find at first, eventually building up a patchwork set of 'armor' that protects her fairly well while still allowing her to move around and adventure comfortably. She's a pragmatic being, not caring too much about appearances anyway.

I had a good amount of fun with this piece - it was almost therapeutic to paint the background. I actually ended up throwing together a quick 3D model of the Stone of Jas in Sketch-Up for a reference (which then accidentally got deleted just after I had finished referencing it...).

Dishonour Among Thieve was SO GOOD despite the (many) obvious signs it had of being rushed badly. Also no voice-acting that was HEARTBREAKING SO MANY COOL VOICES WE COULD HAVE HAD

Either way, wow! This is so awesome! I'm really starved for high-quality RS art so it's a wonderful surprise to get to see stuff of this caliber. Please keep it up!

Thanks!

I wasn't too bummed about the lack of voice acting (though I would've liked to have it (mostly because Sliske's voice is just yes)) because I like to speak the lines myself as I record my playthroughs and do 'funny' voices for all the characters (I'm weird that way), though I did see a couple of points where it, as you say, was rushed a bit. That was small potatoes to me compared to the sheer amount of fun I had playing this quest, though.

I got super bummed about the voice-acting just 'cuz I love it so much, and definitely because Sliske has the... second best voice in the game. Armadyl comes first. That's something I do myself, though XD Sometimes it's silly, sometimes it's taken seriously.

The quest as a whole was a ton of fun and I loved it so much. I'm just prone to always spotting small things |D

What did you do at the end? Side with Sliske, side with Zamorak or stood aside?

After about a minute of deliberation, I remained neutral. I'm still kicking myself that I didn't side with Zamorak and take the shot...

I chose to remain a neutral as well for the most part, but broke my rules and took a shot. Taking the shot is like tricking Wheatley into telling you to press the button - we're in a lot of trouble and most likely about to die, but it was worth it. Frankly, it'd be a taster of things to come.

exactly how i felt when i had the stone of jas's power

"so... i've just gotten beaten near to death by a shadow version of myself,
i'm brimming with a heavy dose of the stones power,
Sliske's neck remains unstrangled ,
and dammit, i'm all out of rellekan cider...

....SO WHO'S FIRST!"

I know, right? I love the bit in the quest log where it's all; "I AM A FONT OF UNSTOPPABLE POWER!!!! YEEAAAHH!"

This looks really cool (Hopefully there is something left to hit, and it's Sliske).

Pathfinder armor leveling up sounds cool, even if they couldn't easily make it work in-game. I don't actually have pathfinder armor though, and don't really know what it looks like.

Thanks! (I think she's hoping the same thing, to be honest!)

The in-game pathfinder armor looks alright, and is pretty low-level, but the cape had decent enough stats for me to use it up until I got Jerrod's cape.
