Yeah so California ranked #1 on worst state in the union, yadda yadda... the reason?These guys (ferrets) are illegal here in CA. WUT?
that's my theory anyway.

Yeah, and they have a ... bad habit of stealing your stuff and hiding/ hording it--esp. if they can tell it's of specific value to you, they WILL make off with it. Smart little buggers!

Because of poultry farmers, it was illegal to own ferrets in California. Recently, the law was amended so that it was now legal to own ferrets, to grant amnesty to current ferret owners, though, it's still illegal to purchase a ferret in California.

Huh interesting. Never thought the Poultry farmers had that much clout in CA. Though I can understand why, and at least we can own one now, even though we can't buy them here.

Well, farmers have always wielded a great deal of clout in California, what with it being an agricultural state. Though, most ferret owners tend to live in Los Angeles and Orange Counties, while most of the poultry farmers live in the San Joaquin Valley.

Well thats true, farming areas do make up a large portion of CA. Still, at least the cities can have them, so to speak.

Yeah they are... For agricultural reasons. I think if you have them already when you moved here form another state, you can keep them.
