Well, not all of them Only certain ones .. It may be considered controversial because Redwall never had magic or deities it could come from, but .. my imagination got away with me. It adds a very Narnian or Lord of the Rings like flair, to be certain ..
Lotor is a Shadow Fighter, he serves the dark lord Malimore (ok maybe I should have called him Vulpez to be cannon .. but I forgot ..) anyway that's why Lotor can blast green fire at people Although it's not without a cost, each time he uses it, it takes some of his life to do so ... (yea .. I worked hard on this one)
Martin really can't use magic at all, actually. His sword however, was blessed by the direct enemy of Malimore, lord Ignasa, so when confronted by Lotor's power, it glows and can deflect it. (which is lucky for Martin .. without that he'd likely be dead by now .. as I already wrote this chapter. Not to worry, Martin's fine (except for a few injuries ..)
Anyway yea, that's why there's glowing stuff

The picture looks amazing! You just managed to capture the moment, and I love the poses and face expressions. By the way... I just realized that with Lotor being a Shadow Fighter, he may be even more dangerous than Tsarmina...
