About the dress:I'm very fond of this costume, I worked hard on it not only during the actual sewing process but also in the planning. I've done researches and seen a lot of amazing costumes inspired by this illustration, but somehow I've never quite felt like any of those beautiful works had the right skirt shape... I really wanted to capture that poofy look on the hips, so after a couple of attempts I went for the stuffing :3 so on my hips there are basically 2 cushions!! That's not the type of cosplay you wanna make if you care about looking thin XD I think I quite got the look I wanted to achieve
About the fabric I chose, I bought just 2 different kinds, one is lace and one is a thick satin. I wanted to give the dress a rich look, but not overdo with too many different fabrics. To give it a lil more texture, I went for a deep red for the satin and a slightly darker red for the lace. on the skirt you can see they're one on top of the other. On the corset the day before the photoshoot I decided to add 2 tiny pieces of a satin cotton embroidered, same colour as the satin, so you can't really tell there's 2 fabrics there but you can feel it's richer (or not? ). I'm not really satisfied with the trimmings, I couldn't find anything better but the result is overall good. I added a couple swarovsky on the corset and on the gloves.

About the wig: I wanted a realistic look, so to make look the big bun like twisted hair i made a stuffed white "snake" and sew it in a vertical spiral, then glue hair over it.

About the jewels: Some are bought and customized, some are self made - like the necklace. You can't see clearly what kind of jewels she wears in the illustration, so I googled for Venetian jewels and Gothic jewels and I came up with a design that is a mix of both.

About the weapon: I dind't have the time to make it, so I asked my friend Cinzia Zamboni to do it for me, and it couldn't turn out better than this! THANK YOU!!
