A tidbit here says that Nova was originally a scrapped character design of the MKR anime director;s other work called Iczer-1 where this cyborg girl with long pointy ears has to save a girl named Nagisa and Earth from the Cthulhus in the manner of Kamen Rider Black despite Iczer airing first. It is stated that the Iczers may or may not be lesbian due to their creators,the Cthulhus who are a female only alien species after their planet destroyed and their male populace have been extinct which give Toshihiro Hirano (director of this wonderful anime) and idea to pitch the idea for Hikaru x Nova which seems to be the case but I dunno. This here speaks out my childhood of watching this anime. This rocks!
