Lol, how about this, Teamwork: Because bunching up makes it that much easier for one guy to wipe out your entire team. I like it, has a nice ring.

Thats amateur teams, real pros keep a fair distance from their fellows and eyes in all directions. But yes that is a very good point.

That's exactly what I meant. Only idiots would stay that close to each other. For a team to actually be effective they have to spread out and have overlapping fields of fire so they can concentrate on one target from many different angles. Whereas in this poster, they're just concentrating all their firepower down one line of sight. This not only makes them pretty much ineffective, but also makes them completely vulnerable due to their lack of mobility and utter vulnerability to area of effect weapons, ie grenades, rockets, power drains, brute shot, rocket pod, and even spartan laser.

*Sigh* What ever happened too teamwork?... Did it ever exist? Whenever I play any game its always bout yourself.... never bout anyone else... I play COD4 and no one works together... maybe some of the clans just a little bit but it ends up to become the shitty kind of teamwork. I like following others a bit away so if they are shot I know the who and where... thus respond in kind. I don't play much nowadays... hell god dam I used to be so good! Have a 92 kill streak in COD4. Now I only get 1 to 1 ratios lucky if I get 1 to 4.... nothing like my 1 to 7 or more back in the day... *Sigh* Anyway yes those guys... well you described the situation perfectly. The very least they could have done was have one guy face the other way.

You make a good point. But here's the thing, I really, really don't like COD 4. Partly because of what you said. It seems like the best strategy in COD 4 is to literally, go off on your own, hide in a corner and wait for someone to walk by. Seriously, in COD 4 the guy who wins is the guy who sees you first. It's a game full of campers. I seriously hate it. All strategy is out the window, it's simply running and gunning, or camping, that's it. People have even found special places to hide in each level so they're harder to see and nearly impossible to hit. It's rediculous. And now, Halo 3 isn't much better. Halo still involves a great deal of strategy, the better team with more practice and better tactics always wins. However, it's random too. The BR spread is random, so accuracy doesn't always help. Also the hit boxes are fucked up. If you want a game full of strategy and skill, play Shadowrun. It's not very popular, but that's because it's designed for hardcore gamers. Skill, practice, and strategy are all that matters. The better player will ALWAYS win.

Well actually you are right and wrong. Halo is an fps and in general its about the first shot. I think that halo is alright but prefer COD4 since there are no vehicles. The reason for quick deaths and stuff in COD is cause the maps are small compared too BF2 or a few halo map. COD4 is my favorite game (well one of them) due to the small technicals like cover, shooting through stuff or everyone being able to chose what they want to outfit themselves with. If you play normal and not hardcore COD4 is more strategic. Then again COD4 and all FPS are not RTS. They where never supposed to have strategy. The point of all FPS is teamwork which is hard to achieve. Halo while you just got to get the hammer first is all. The best FPS I think is... COD2 maybe since its not shoot and pray its all about aim... sadly that something has been lost to the winds. I for strategy like to play WIC... but stopped since no one I know logs on when Im on and Im the only ******* *****er of my clan that logs on whenever I check... where the **** they all go? ugh. Shadowrun... Meh I think Frontlines Fuel of War would have been I great game if the piece OF FUCKING SHIT actually worked. I tries it three times and it never worked. I saw my friend it failed him too... went too forums and learned there was an epic failure in the discs... boy that upset me. Crysis is not worth it online, since its not as fun as sp and it demands to much, plus getting an account with ect to play it, fuck that! I am hoping that COD5 will be much better and there shall supposedly be vehicles there. COD5 is the new game I think should make the best shooter when it comes out. I say so not because I am a fanboy of it or anything. Its because it fills out the criteria of a good reliable shooter.

Dude, have you EVER watched an MLG event, or for that matter, do you even know what one is? Playing Halo seriously is all about teamwork. The real teams like Carbon and Final Boss practice together for months. They have strategies and plans for every match. Not only is their individual skill impressive, but what really makes them pros is their teamwork. Each one of them is where they need to be, when they need to be there. And what are you talking about "all you need to do is get the hammer first"??!! That's ridiculous. If you've EVER played against someone who knew what they were doing they could easily take you out. Oh my god, the only kids you can beat with a hammer are retarded little noobs that charge straight at you like lemmings to the slaughter. If you had a hammer and I had a battle rifle, I'd win every time. As for Frontlines Fuel of War. That game is the biggest piece of shit I've ever played, I didnt even bother completeling the first objective in that game because it was sooo terrible.

Shadowrun sucks mainly since its a monthly fee... Then again it does not matter since you are a xbox/halo fan boy and dam hell yes I know what Major League Gaming is, even if I have never or will never see one (in real life... on the internet yes I have). *sigh* The hammer comment was a quip (a sharp, sarcastic remark; a cutting jest) if you did not get that at first. A person of my caliber would obviously realize the hammer as the worst weapon in the game. The best guns in halo are probably the br and needler and don't say a needler is for noobs cause only noobs that mock other noobs say that. If a gun is good use it! A game is about war and should be played in a war like manner. But if some was real good, it would not matter what weapon they had... pistol br, ar whatever. I have played every shooter or have watched others play shooters so of course I get your point. As for the teams what they do is overkill... I could get better synchronization with my friends and so could you. Pro gaming is not that complex its just what the guy/girls actually do is mostly unknown since everyone dumps the assumption that its just some people playing a video game. Also many are unaware that gaming is a sport hell it blew my simple minded sister away when she saw me watching g4 covering.... well one of competitions... that they were covering in there stay out of summer marathon of show. PS Alone in the dark is kinda corny.

Shadowrun definitely isn't a monthly fee. For the 360 you just simply play on Live, for Vista you do the same, it's even cross platform. Alright, I didn't know if the hammer thing was joke or not, cause there seriously are alot of idiots out there that worship it, frankly I thought it was another thing Bungie threw in just to look cool. lol, nah I don't think needlers are for noobs. True a weapon that doesn't really need aim is a little noobish, but it's a damn affective weapon, and in truth, isn't too noobish cause if your opponent is smart enough to strafe and keep his distance he can stop a guy with a needler pretty easily. I think it's just that most people, including myself, get pissed off that they explode in a cloud of pink dust from just a few needles. And it does kinda matter what gun you have, that's why the pros use BR start, cause the AR is really gay, it was basically made to be used with a melee attack, so you get a bunch of people who only know how to charge, and their tool of destruction is almost always the melee. And I wouldn't call team strategy overkill, it's just cooperation. Fact is, it may seem "unfair" to be teamkilled, but it's always better to have 2 guys firing on 1 guy, seeing as he'll die twice as fast. Yeah, I don't play horror games anyway, but thanks for the tip, lol.

Yes but for people that don't have xbox or vista CAUSE IT SUCKS! Just like mac! XP is for gamers so there is little choice in the matter what people with pcs can use not that many use much other than vista anyhow. My base of fire is my PC since I do not possess the other systems but I have still packed hours on all of them... childish wii included.... Bioshock=***** awesome... but there are many flaws... the farther you go in the game the far more repetitive it seems and ammo is like close to zero always so thats a killjoy. Now back to the Halo discussion of ours. I am guessing a pretty dam self explanatory thing here but nonetheless... Halo is where you stand yes, its your base of fire right?

Spartans-Never-Die In reply to VictorDoUrden [2008-09-17 20:19:35 +0000 UTC]

Actually, when it comes to OS, I prefer XP. Vista is a pretty sorry excuse for Microsoft to make money. It hasn't done anything really new and, if anything, has made things more complicated and difficult, especially when you compare it to XP. I was raised on XP, lol, so I definitely love it. Trouble is, the laptop (my computer) is new, and EVERY new computer runs Vista *sigh* Except Macs of course but I hate Apple, lol. As for Halo, yeah, I pretty much love Halo. I've played all three games many time through, and I've read every novel. The story entrhalls me and the game is amazing. I have to say though, I'm not too much of a fanboy anymore. When Halo 2 was out I was in love with it, lol. I'd play it every day and get as good as I possibly could, even watching MLG and learning from it. So of course I was soo anxious for Halo 3 to come out. However, after the month or two of nestalgia, I realized that Halo 3 kinda sux. It took me a while but eventually I realized that all Bungie did was throw in a bunch of unnecessary bells and whistles that ended up hurting the very foundation of the game. They ended up making the story line incredibly short and really made the game less difficult. They added all these new guns and vehicles and pretty graphics to impress people. Halo 1 and 2 were games that could be intensely competitive, but Halo 3 has been, to sum it up in one word, noobified. I honestly don't play it much anymore.
