SO. MUCH. WIN.
This was one of those Jurassic-Park/Alien II kinda films where you couldn't quite call it a horror. Always love watching Stripe come out of that egg and hearing the iconic haunting gargle of Frank Welker emerge from that fiendish snout.
That being said, if ever I see a Velociraptor or Xenomorph materialize on your page, I will pee myself. Abundantly.

The 80s were the best for light horror. Poltergeist, this film, etc. A touch of that Spielberg magic back in the day. It seems like now haunted house movies have replaced that. A lot of jump scares, but too many familiar and same-ish concepts, maybe.
Also, er, maybe I should hold off on that xenomorph. I don't want ya soakin' yerself, man!

Movies of that style were brilliant, because they give you all this time to admire the creature/alien/apparition/animal and their genius designs. I never actually regarded Alien as a horror movie because I was just so fascinated with the xenomorph's predatory design.Β
I saw Jurassic World and it felt great to revisit that old atmosphere, when the "antagonist" animal is, if anything, a showcase of an amazing animal. You can't not be impressed by these things, so what if they're scarfing down lawyers.Β
As for the modern horror, I enjoyed the first Paranormal when it was focused more on the slow, deeply uncomfortable shit that leaves you anxious and apprehensive. Felt like a nod to Exorcist. But now these new ones are all about the "DOOR SLAM. WITCH IN THE MIRROR. LOUD DEMON SCREAM."
I am literally standing at a men's urinal, begging you to open the flood gates with some sort of Stan Winston era legend! FREE ME, SCAM. FREE ME

1. Keep them out of strong light. Β Especially sunlight. Β Sunlight will kill them.
2. Don't get them wet. Β Don't give them water to drink. Β Don't even give them a bath.
3. No matter how much they beg, never EVER... feed them after midnight.

That Furry Thing (according to Kate in the second movie...always makes me laugh when she says it) and the leader from the first! Β I swear Gizmo didn't get enough torture from the first batch as he did from the second batch (Mohawk was a bastard compared to Stripe).
