There are many pythons species out there. Ball Pythons(I have one, Jinky is her name, her photos are in my gallery too), Blood Pythons, Burmese Pythons, Reticulated Pythons, Indian Rock Python(Kaa from the Jungle Book), African Rock Python and others.

The Ball Python isn't difficult to take care of, the species are intermediate and don't require other than the obvious(warm enclosure, water dish and food every week or so) and they don't get too big in size either(3 to 5 feet). Handling them is very easy too since they're very docile and are rarely aggressive. The Blood Python though is a different story. They require bigger enclosures since they can get up to 6-7 feet, have a serious appetite(unlike my ball python, she never skipped a meal since I got her and she was a baby the size of a finger and a half) and are grumpy in general. She can be overly defensive, hissy and moody. But when she's calm, which I quickly know because I'm her daddy basically, she can very sweet and simply observes around harmlessly. Though if she's not handled properly, she will let you know and it won't be pretty.

Myes. That's really one of the most distinguishing things about humans & other species; animals usually don't strike unless firstly disturbed, unlike the latter.

Pretty much, yes. Animals are dangerous when they're hungry, Humans are dangerous when full.

Not at home, not anymore at least. They all went to the farm where they have everything they need and more. At home I just have my snake and tortoise.
