Description Come up with something more original, please.

Why do you have to be so defensive? It seems like in the majority of stamps, people need to 'get over' something. Or 'deal with' something.

"I'm a ____ fan! Deal with it!"

"I play ____. Get over it!"

"I watch _____. Deal with it!!"

If people really hate whatever you watch/like/read/play/whatever, then no, they will not 'get over it'. Saying 'get over it' or 'deal with it' only makes you look arrogant and defensive. And maybe I'm overreacting, but it'd be nice if that phrase could disappear from a couple hundred stamps.

i could say something like that to a protective crazy fan: "it's an imaginary character, deal with it" cuz they.. y'know, kind of deserve it :/

'Deal with it' is probably worse. They use it after every single statement

THANKS SO MUCH! This stamp is my feelings EXACTLY!

Every time I hear "get over it" I get so angry I want to kill someone, because when I lost a friend to suicide in 2008, that was the first thing I heard from my family. I'm not meaning to seem like a bitch by that, I'm just wanting to explain.

This is one stamp I wish I could favorite more than once.
People tell us to "get over" something, and my knuckles twitch.

The phrase "Get over it" is meant to be used in a situation when something is impossible to undo or change. Not to defend an opinion.

Y'know such as "That team lost the championship, get over it," or "That store is closed down for good, get over it."

Oddly enough, when I say "I'm ___, oh well," people throw an even BIGGER shitstorm than if I say "I'm ___, get over it!"

Huh.

In a stamp: "I'm X. Get over it.", what is the hidden third sentence in between these two?

"Get over it" = "I have nothing of value I can use to refute your argument, so I'm going to throw a tantrum."

I've been seeing that phrase a lot lately. It really saddens me when I see a stamp that I agree with and want to add to my favorites, but says "deal with it" or "get over it" and totally kills it for me.

I hadn't really noticed how many stamps say "Get Over It" until you mentioned it. Now that I look at them, I'm surprised at how many there are.

Now I'm waiting for a "I use 'Get Over It.' Get over it!" stamp...

I'm waiting for that immature comment when someone writes "well get over it." Seriously, I am.

I never really thought about this before but you do bring up a good point, it is overused and overall makes you look like an ass.

The funny thing is that most people honestly don't care.

Well, I don't mind if you're playing around, but if you're going to be stupid enough to put it in EVERY stamp, then that's just annoying. Some of my stamps have 'Deal.', but I'm thinking of something funnier, which will appear in my next wave of stamps.

Gazer123 [2008-07-21 21:38:52 +0000 UTC]

I so agree with this. It's always 'deal with it, get over it, big deal, so what, blah blah blah'. Seriously, you defensive, stubborn people, you can state that you like whatever, but telling people that don't like it to 'get over it' is pathetic and rude.

Agreed. For once I would love to see a stamp that says: "I love ___" or "I watch ___ and if you don't, I'm cool with that."

I would loove that, but "I'm cool with that" just doesn't have the same, ahem, "impact" as "get over it," or "deal with it," even if using that phrase makes the user sound like a complete toolshed. We can only hope that people get tired of the phrases.
