It's a well known fact: Martial Arts = Super Powers. Didn't know that? Look it up, practice your kung fu long enough, you gain super powers. And these two prove it...Liu Kang: The champion of Earthrealm and winner of several Mortal Kombat Tournaments, Liu Kang has fought against the likes of the evil sorcerer Shang Tsung, and even the god-like emperor Shao Khan. A proud Shaolin Monk, Liu Kang has few equals in his field.
Ryu: Master martial artist and primary hero of the Street Fighter series. Whether it was in Video Games or in Movies, Ryu continues to fight and train to fight the evil Akuma, or defend the world from M.Bison. Truly, he is a Karate Master with few peers.
Now these two are about to go head to head and fist to fist in a brutal battle. Will it be the burning fists of Liu Kang or the Hadoken of Ryu that seals victory? Street fighter or Mortal Kombat, only you can decide...

Liu Kang Has 2 Ways To Defeat Ryu:
1-Punch Through Ryu's Face Causing a Hole in Face.
2-Taking Spine Out of Ryu's Body.

This is the fight death battle should've have done because this is more fair for ryu, since liu kang isn't dead. I think that ryu will win this fight because:
1.)Ryu has been training his whole life
2.)Has deadlier techniques like that kamehamaha rip offย beam thing
3.)Evil ryu outclasses liu kang in all stats
4.)Evil ryu was able to keep with asura
5.)Power of nothingness and evil ryu are really the main reasons

Liu Kang he's a lot more willing kill, oddly enough being a shaolin monk, plus being able to transform into a dragon and even if he is killed, witch took two people powerful wizards to do, He would just comeback as a zombie.

This is really tough. They are equal in fighting styles. But Ryu has a slightly higher power output. So he wins.

True but you have to remember Liu Kang can turn into a dragon and has fought both demonic and godly beings, plus even when he was killed he still came back as a zombie.

Sadly, I know nothing of Ryu, only what game he comes from. I always played Mortal Kombat as my fighting game of choice.

Funny thing, Ryu is undoubtedly the most popular SF character and is the poster boy as well as protagonist. Liu Many on the other is the protagonist yet isn't the most popular character, easily beat out by Scorpion and Sub Zero. Giving this one to Ryu.

It's a Christmas miracle, A MK vs SF match-up that doesn't pit Ryu against Scorpion. This would make a way more interesting fight.

Yep, main hero vs main hero. Plus they have similar abilities. People only pair Scorpion with Ryu because they are the icons of the series but Scorpion would easily win because he is faster and could deal deadly blows with a number of his attacks since they are made up of hell fire, sharp spears and swords.

Me neither though being an MK fan I am biased for Liu-Kang. While the Haduken may be bigger and can be shot out like a Kame-Hame-Ha it looks avoidable and Liu-Kang's dragon fire is faster and can be fired twice in a row so if they shot their blasts at each other Liu-Kang could have the first dragon fire run into the Haduken and shoot a low Dragon Fire to hit Ryu, knocking him down.

This might be biased since I'm more of a MK fan but I think Liu-Kang would win.

Am I allowed to consider that Ryu can stand up to Hulk, Phoenix, Onslaught, etc.? Then again I would have to consider Superman, Darkseid, Captain Marvel, etc. AAAGGH. I don't know what to say, I just know I prefer Street Fighter to Mortal Kombat, though I've liked both since my young days, but I shouldn't let that color my verdict.

Liu Kang, easily. He's can turn into a dragon, has defeated opponents like Goro and Motaro, and once punched a hole into Shao Kahn.

Also, Kang wins movie-wise as well. Mortal Kombat movie> Street Fighter movie.
