I love him so much. He's just stunning in every way. And those legs... man those must have taken a lot of work, but they're fantastic. Seeing lovely dolls like Ascker makes me want to try to make my own BJD when I have the time and funds.Β

Thank you very much, dear! Yes, those legs are a fetish for me))) And I had to do some trial and error to fit all the joints in!
Hope you'll make your BJD too! It's so much fun! I'm glad that my doll served as an inspiration for you.

Sorry, it's the only doll that I don't plan to sell or make copies of. He means too much to me.

Try asking Google. It's a very basic skill today.

Wow this is stunning ;w; I just recently found out about these things, and I have a few questions if you don't mind?
How are the joints made/connected?
Are they hollow or are they full out pieces of clay?
What took so long to make it? I mean, it's a very symmetrical, obviously delicately made doll, but was there any specific reason?
What are the eyes made from?

Thank you very much!
The pieces (not only joints) are connected with a strong elastic cord.
The joints are not hollow, they just have the stringing channels inside.
Yes, it took that long because the pieces are symmetrical. And also BJD is a rather complicatedly engineered thing: I redid the elbow joints 4 times till I received the proper look, movement range and fixation. Also, this is not the standard human-like BJD, so there are a plenty of my own know-hows designed specifically for this case. And, at last: Apoxie Sculpt doesn't allow fast work, but rather forces a sculptor to work in stages. It's a rather strong material so only the final sanding took me 2 months of work.
The eyes are from Eyeco and are made out of silicone.

Breathtaking.
I just- I have no words, I'm utterly and completely dumbfounded by the brilliance of this sculpt.

Man, I WISH I had any sort of sculpting skills, seeing beautiful individual work like this makes my far-flung dream of having a poseable Eddie Riggs seem that much closer.
CURSE YOU DOUBLEFINE FOR NOT MAKING AN ACTION FIGURE OF AWESOME!!

*sigh*
I wish I had the time to devote to learning something so awesome. I mean, I draw, but I wish I could make my drawings real things, you know?
Auuuugh to have a 3D printer!

I know that feeling because I'd like to improve my drawing skills further. But I have time only for dollmaking ATM. It's just the matter of choice and priorities, you need to make decisions at the certain stages, what is more important to you. Or you need 48 hrs in a day.

Longer days, pfft.
More like more reliable funds and tools to make the hours of the day that much more useful. Funds to deal with the day to day annoyances of food/shelter/clothing/etc and technology to do away with the chores that suck up so much time.
Then there's hours upon hours of time all of sudden open to fill with what you really WANT to do, rather than HAVE to do.
