-_____- Good luck! I'm running out of ideas for mine...ugh community. Β I have 3 and a half done for mine (I've only posted one)Β Β I'm really behind, even though I only need 5 pieces, a good sized portfolio has about 12....Β
Β
I usually keep the finished ones in an Art portfolio so it doesn't rub too much. Β I haven't used charcoal this year yet... I'm probably a bit dusty (if you noticed the pun)Β

Feb. 1st is the last day for it. I have an abstract pace, an animation, the finding hope one and this part of my city. I think I'm probably going to think about it as I go along...Β
I have my own space to store artwork too but I have to share *takes up 70% of the space anyways.Β

UGHHHHHHH people's names... I always feel so bad when someone is like, "hey Kelly" and I don't remember their name. Yea, I was researching that for a school project... if you are interested it was a podcast from radiolab called "remembering and forgetting" (I think)? I guess that happens because our minds fills in the blanks and we then we remember the "filled blanks" and it becomes hard to remember what's real and what's fake.Β
Nice, one more! What are you going to do to celebrate?
Hand animation is very tiring process... I've done it different ways and it's mostly been people (and their body parts) drawn by hand (because it is quicker for me), scanned to the computer and I move the body parts around in photoshop (cough cough, as if that didn't sound creepy). Then I save each frame as jpg and put them together on Sony Vegas. Well.. I guess that's not completely hand animation because I use photoshop? I don't know lol
But for the won, I didn't use photoshop at all (other to clean up scanner dust) and used the light-table at my school to do each frame... think it was about 250-280? somewhere around there. I don't take pictures because scanners have higher quality and also because I don't have a steady hand. I'll post it and also some other unfinished ones I did.Β

I have to submit it to Deviant film... -___- so it's going to take a while... It took me about 2 school weeks plus the spring break. Mine is about a minute too. There's a different between the number of pictures (I call it frames even though it's technically incorrect. Sorry for the confusion) and frames per second. I drew about 250 pictures, but when I put the pictures together, I had to adjust the speed of the pictures. So frames per second kinda doesn't become how many frames was drawn, but the speed that was flipped through. I've just confused you futher so your welcome.Β
I think in other words, I drew 250 -280 pictures, but because the speed is different than I can actually draw, (I'm not drawing 16 frames per second <--- that's the minimum for it to look animated) after it goes through the software, it ends up at 2453 frames for the whole thing... So that'll be 245.3 frames per second. DX
With the body parts, I draw the body without the arms/legs and draw the arm and legs separately. That's walking made easy!Β
Lol, I stick with conte. Charcoal is far to messy for me. *rubs "war paint" on face with charcoal.Β
Your curse is shared. I too can not remember names. When I'm reading a book, I don't remember the names the author gives them, I make up my own names like: That guy. The ugly guy. The stupid guy.Β
*Fails exam.Β

Yea, the software automatically renders the frames, actually I'm confused now....
O_O Β
Yea, people are especially lazy with backgrounds (this includes me) It's like someone paused the background while the main characters are fighting crime or something lol. Walking is the hardest thing to animate I think. When people are talking you just need to change the mouth!
My glasses don't fit on my nose very well so every-time it drops I get charcoal on my nose. There's a art-room rule that we won't let anyone out the door if they have paint or charcoal on their face.Β

Oh ouch... I give away all my oil pastels because I don't like how they feel. It's like rubbing butter all over your hands.Β
Hahaha, did you watch Pokemon? There was an episode where jiggly puff drew faces on people with a marker after they fell asleep after her song!Β

I really hate oil pastels. We had to use the cheap crayola ones (Because of budget cuts and such we can't get nice ones) and they're horrible
And no, i don't watch Pokemon. I've only seen a couple episodes and like 2 of the movies. However i do own almost all the video games from GBA on - except for X and Y, which i can't get because i don't own a 3DS. I was pretty obsessed with it when i was younger (which is a bit sad to admit but i still like it now so whatever) and i'm surprised i don't have any fanart in my gallery of it.

I have/ had the all the different game boy versions. I couldn't get into the DS ones thou... I was obsessived with it when I was little, I still remember where all the berries are hidden in fire-red/leaf-green. Used to pretend I was pokemon and run around the house lol. The jiggly-puff episode was in the original series which I think is better than the later series.Β

Scarlet-Wings-Kaili In reply to Kazimerus [2013-12-04 04:56:02 +0000 UTC]
I had contacts once but it was a nightmare for me. It took me 30 minutes to get one on once and I can`t take them off for some reason. I used to want to get laser eye surgery Β but recently I realized that I grew up with glasses so I guess it's part of who I am right now and it would feel weird if I didn't have them anymore. My eyes are strange because they keep healing themselves... usually people get bigger degrees but for me, every time I go to the eye doctor my eyes get better. I`m not sure why it does that
π: 0 β©: 1
Kazimerus In reply to Scarlet-Wings-Kaili [2013-12-05 01:19:12 +0000 UTC]
That happens when you get contacts at first. When i first got mine i couldn't get them in my eye, they kept falling out and irritated my eye to the point i would take them out and just walk around blind. However i then got specially made contacts because my corneas are extremely steep and these are doing a lot better. It's just a matter of getting used to them and getting over the feeling that something is constantly touching your eye. I personally like contacts a lot better than glasses. What kind did you have? My friend has the exact same problem and she got daily contacts and they work really well for her. I have monthly and those work just fine. (not the ones where you wear them all the time though)
You're luck to have that happen. I don't know why that happens either but that would be totally crazy if it completely healed itself one day.

Scarlet-Wings-Kaili In reply to Kazimerus [2013-12-05 04:14:46 +0000 UTC]
I doubt it would ever completely heal one day, it'll probably stop at around 50+ to 100+. I'm at around 125+ and 175+ right now and, used to be near 400+, so I'm pretty happy about that. I've heard that green and carrots are good for your eyes but I live in Canada and it's almost white all the time and I hate carrots so I don't know if that's true.Β
I don't remember what I had, all I remember I threw them out because it expired 2 years ago. It was probably the monthly ones because I didn't have to change them all the time. I didn't mind them when it was in my eyes, I just hated getting them out. Everytime I would poke my own eye because I don't have a steady hand and usually after trying for 30+ minutes to get them out, my eyes get dry and it hurts to even try to open them. It was worse when I got one out and the other one was stuck and it made me really dizzy.Β

Kazimerus In reply to Scarlet-Wings-Kaili [2013-12-06 16:52:25 +0000 UTC]
Woah! That's a major improvement! Yes, carrots are supposedly good for eyesight. But i've heard it mostly helps your dark vision. I haven't heard anything about greens helping eyesight. My eyes are weird because my left eye is twice as bad as my right one. I'm not sure what my prescription is i don't know whether it is + or - either because it means different things but I'm near sighted, so i can't see things far away.
Oh yeah having only one contact in makes me super dizzy too. That happened once in a horrible way. Once my left contact fell out in school (you know, the one with the worst eyesite) and then i had to take a math test and do a chemistry lab having a major headache because everything on my right was super clear and i couldn't see anything clearly on my left at all. And that's why i carry around my glasses now in case that ever happens again -_-

Yeah i can see pretty well close up but far away i can't see anything clearly. I can see basic outlines of stuff (like if i'm not wearing my glasses an i'm looking at a person i can tell that person has brown shoulder length hair and is wearing a green shirt and stuff like that but i can't identify them). Hmmm.... to give an example of how bad my eyesight is when i take off my glasses and cover my left eye i can still see what i'm typing. However, When i cover my right eye i can make out blurry squiggly lines with spaces in between them, i can only read the text if i squint and try really hard and even then i probably can only read it because i know what it says. My computer is about an arms length from my face when i was doing that. So if that gives you an idea because i don't know what my numbers are or anything.
I still had one contact in when that happened so i just covered my other eye and i was fine. (but at least i'm prepared if that ever happens again)
That's the good thing about glasses though. Something like that wont ever happen - or shouldn't.

Scarlet-Wings-Kaili In reply to Kazimerus [2013-12-11 02:41:55 +0000 UTC]
Lol, I once had glasses that one lens would always fall out for some reason. It would be so funny if it wasn't so annoying! Arm's length away my left eye (right eye blocked) can see what I'm typing, but my right eye (left eye blocked) is a bit too blurry to see all the words. So it's opposite to you. From what you've told me, sounds like your right eye is like my left (around 125) and your left eye is like my right around (175-200). I haven't had a eye appointment for a while so I don't know if that's accurate anymore. I've heard that squinting makes eye-sight worse, so I never try to squint. I had a friend that squinted a lot (and refused to get glasses for a while) and when she finally checked she was at 300+ and 200- (she has really weird eyes.... -____-). Whooaaaa, I started with 100+!

Kazimerus In reply to Scarlet-Wings-Kaili [2013-12-13 22:11:32 +0000 UTC]
That sounds about right for my eyesight.
I was like your friend and i had glasses and refused to wear them to school for a full year so i always had to sit in the front and even had to sit right in front of the projector sometimes. I had a teacher once where if he saw you squinting he would make you sit in the front and ask where your glasses were even if you didn't have any (which i didn't at the time -_-)
And for your friend does that mean she can't see far away in one eye and close up in the other? That must be really weird.
