Description Death was something Everest was constantly afraid of, maybe quite more than others. Though he knew everyone would experience such a course of conclusion, he had always been frightened of the thought of leaving his family, his friends, and his colony. Yet now that it was upon him, he felt oddly calm. A tom that had once been terrified of water, was now cradled in it. The depths of dark blue surrounded him in a suffocating grasp that held firm even after his attacker had left. His eyes were barely open, but it was just enough to see the blurry outline of his fur and limbs, swaying as if he were sitting in an autumn field. Everest fought to kick out at the very atmosphere that held him, but his muscles did not move. Any last hope that he had in escaping the fleeting moment left in the form of several sparkling bubbles that rose to a surface he couldn't find.
Oh Stars, what had he gotten himself into.. Everest should have known from the start that the evening would not end in the type of soothing slumber he had expected. How had the Lily tom not recognized Sly from the beginning? Was he that stupid and naive not to see what was right in front of him? The crimson wolf pelt, and the expertise with stone weapons. It all had aligned with stories he had heard from his rogue Troop. Adults would scare the younger cats with tales of a blood thirsty scout that sought to kill all in his sight, yet when they turned there would be hushed whispers that came from their mouths. Murmurs of longing, and of hope that maybe one day the scout they had just slandered would come to rescue them from their shackles. Everest, too, had dreamed of the day where Scout Sly would save him from his predicament. If only he had stuck to Lily Colony itself, and not wandered to join other systems. He should have stayed by his family's side no matter what threats came his way. He was not dying by Sly's claws, but of his own idiotic decisions. Everest had gotten himself into the current situation. Sly had only performed as expected. If there had been more time, or maybe if he had been quicker, he could have told Sly why he had done what he did. Why he had joined the Organization. Maybe Sly would have understood, and saved him from his actions. However, there was no point now...
As death came to carry him off, Everest thought to his family... to his friends. Memories of the birth of his kittens came to mind. Memories of a time where he laughed with a good friend, Cowrie, over things so heart warming to look back on. Cowrie...... Had he seen her lithe frame on the bank just above his drowning body? Was it blood that had graced her features? He couldn't be sure before everything grew impossibly number than before. Yet if he were correct, maybe this process wouldn't be so bad. The two friends had always sworn they would go Down Together.

YIPPEE!! Couldn't wait to get this scene out... even though it's.... welll..........  Sorry Everest . This piece takes places during and after this roleplayed story right here: We May Never See Eye to Eye
I really wanted to highlight on Everest's last moments. His last thoughts on his family and friends, and especially why he had gotten into this situation in the first place. I know it comes off as pretty vague, but it will all tie together shortly. If you want it narrowed down to one sentence, however, here's the sum up: Everest got involved with some bad company that Sly knows all too well.

RIP Everest and Cowrie... Though I'm sure this isn't the last time we'll touch on them. ;D

I love how your drawing shows Everest having some sort of flashback of happy memories during/before his death. It is really emotional when a character thinks about all the cats/people they've known. I also love the details in the shading, it gives the characters an implied feeling of fur and wet fur! The lighting is amazing, too! It gives the sense that he was once in the light(Life), but fell into darkness(death)

Something you could improve is the water bubbles. The bubbles around Everest can be made lighter/more visible so on first glance, you can see he is drowning, or letting go of his last breaths of air.

Another thing you could improve on is his pose, the straightness in his limbs make him look stiff/tense & not really dying. You can also think about his weight, his limbs are lighter than his body, but since one of his limbs is beneath his body, it could be drawn more bent/curved.

Thank you for reading! I hope I helped!
