I was in grade 9 when the first lord of the rings movie came out on video. I was young and impressionable...-oh wait ... I still am.... dam. anyways, You know the part of the first movie when we first see legolas?-Its right before the meeting with Elrond in Rivendell. As we watched each of the characters arrive for the meeting, i thought i saw one that looked like Leonardo Decaprio...(PLEASE!!!!!you have to know that when I first see people, they look different than they do after I get a better look at them, so just bear with me here!...cuz i know that Leo and Orly don't look anything alike ) anyways I didn't hear what his name was, so I nicnamed him pretty boy.Basically everyine who has known me since grade 9 ins probably nodding their heads right now.
Thus, the craze began...
My friend mandy and I decided that we were in love with anything that had to do with LOTR. We became elves (in other words we convinced ourselves and each other that we were elves and nobody was gonna say a word against it), and we printed off every bit of Elvish we came across on the net so we could learn it. In fact, We can still speak Elvish to this day **...*blinks* What? it's a really neat language! I learnt how to say things like "go kiss an orc",and "your head is empty"! (btw, if you want to know some disses in elvish -lemme know! Iv'e got some really great ones.)...I...** also *face turns bright pink and slowly becomes a darker shade of red* ...pronounced...myself... Legolas' girlfriend. We even did our hair to match Legolas'.
Then, the real craziness began. yeah, (theres more) We started to collect EVERYTHING we could find including: pictures of all of the characters, as well as any pictures of the various LOTR merchandise and New Zealand, the very secret diaries of each of the characters (via the internet) *pets the internet*, movie mistakes-though it was only to say that half of them were crap...and they pissed us off anyways- we printed off copies of the entire script from each movie,*pets school printer* *glances around to see if anyone noticed* bought all the books, became convinced that gollum was living in tianas basement......did she even have a basement?... bought elf ears from Spencers as well as anything else we could possibly find including (ironically enough) a document entitled "too much LOTR" that listed all of the signs for people who are LOTR obsessed. I am sorry to say that my LOTR stuff began with a nice folder that was stapled all over the edges so my stuff didn't fall out. Next the folder was upgraded to a RED duotang. (same year this became my fav colour), then it went to a 1'' binder, then a 2'' binder, then a 3'' binder, and finally (reaching the year 2006) a whopping 4'' binder.
...O_O...
