Description So I figured I'd make a tutorial for how I make my earrings.
This pair is for

Materials Used:
x1 Paint Brush (any kind)
x1 Bottle of White Acrylic Pain (I used some from Joann's Craftstore but any will do)
x2 Guitar Picks (I used Tortex Red, which is .38 mm I believe, however due to no punch being needed here, you can use any thickness. The .38 works just as well as 1.14. Basically whatever you can get your hands on, use. Your Local music store should have them. I bought these picks at Guitar Center)
x1 Bottle of Red Glitter (Fine is the best for this)
x1 Bottle of White or Clear Glitter (Again Fine is best. You can use clear because the backround will already be white)
x1 Bottle of Blue Glitter (Fine is the best! And try to use a dark blue because it is more true to the flag)
x2 Earring Hooks (Any metal is fine depending on what your ear sensitivity is. I used basic nickle free because I can use anything in my ears. But if you have sensitive ears, It would be best to use sterling silver findings)
x2 Jump Rings (Any kind is fine just make sure it will work with the backings and Hooks)
x2 Metal Back Findings (I Honestly have no idea what they are actually called, but you can pick them up at any craft store really. I purchased mine from Joann's Craft etc place)
x1 Glue (For the Glitter. Any Kind is fine. I used Aqua because I have it around, but simple Elmer's Glue would work just the same)
x1 Super Glue (Any kind, just make sure it is good for metal and plastics)
x1 Sharpie or Pencil (To lay out your design. It really helps. I used a Sharpie Pen for this tutorial.)
x1 Needle Nose Pliers (For attaching the findings)
No Punches are Necessary for this.

Steps:
Step One- Gather Everything
Step Two- Paint your picks and Outline the flag design. You may need a reference if you have no experience drawing this.
Step Three, Four, and Five- Add your glitter. Red, then White, then Blue. Let dry in between colors and use your dry paintbrush to brush off any excess in the way of other colors
Step Six- Brush off all excess glitter when dry.
Step Seven- Put a VERY SMALL dot of super glue on the Metal back findings. If you put too much it will get all of the back and your surface.
Step Eight- Place the Pick in the Center. Be very careful with this step okay? Line it up first and be sure you have it centered and straight before placing it down. The glue will not dry immediately so you have a small amount of time to fix any mistakes in positioning.
Step Nine- Let them Dry. You may need to do so for an hour or so.
Step Ten- Using your pliers attach your jump ring to the backing. Then the earring hooks. Make sure the jump ring is closed tight and secure.
Step Eleven- Marvel at your new Pair of Guitar Pick Earrings.

These can also be made into Pendants, so rather than attaching one to the hooks, attach it to a string or chain. You can also use post findings to make these. In the last picture is a pair I made into posts, but they are a bit more difficult. I will make a tutorial for them later if you would really like to know.

Its that simple. These make great gifts to any punk rocker, England enthusiast, Hetalia Fan, or Cosplayer.

You may use the same techniques for other flags also. American Flag Guitar Pick Tutorial will be put up for the Fourth of July.

Enjoy and Leave a Comment. If you make them leave me a link because I'd love to see how they turn out.

DO NOT COPY OR STEAL THIS TUTORIAL. Credit me and leave a link if you do put it somewhere else.
