So, to kinda apologize for being away so long, I wanted to upload one of the projects I worked on this semester in Graphics 4. Yes, you read right, this is was my project for an advanced class where we had to make a poster advertising new commemorative stamps and did I do some revered artist or culture changing art movement or something equally "grown-up"? Nope! I went with Adventure Time simply because I like it and I could
There are a few small details that I think need a little tweaking, but that's just me being nit-picky. I am working on personal stuff in between my schoolwork (because honestly you need a break every now and then) so hopefully I'll be able to put them up within a reasonable amount of time

Thanks! I'm more of a casual fan myself but I do like to explore the potential this show has. When it gets serious it almost seems like a different show because you weren't expecting to feel anything for these characters except a passing interest in the latest little adventure. The deeper story underscoring the silly setting and antics sets it apart from a lot of other shows and I respect anything that can pull that off...and keep me interested, lol.
I had other designs that included her but with this final layout I had to cut someone and due to deadlines I had to go with the easiest character to draw, lol. Not that the others were easy but she's also one of the most recognizable characters in the show too so she kinda won out on that point XD (at least in my opinion)
(Wanted to say I got your note, and that I'm sorry I haven't responded in a while but I am working on designs for the MAD, mostly on the overall visual style and some outfit designs. Hopefully I can get them to you by the end of the week. I'd like your input before getting down to work on some of the actual frames. I can put them up in my Scraps but if you wanted to keep this between us so we can surprise everyone when it's done, I can email them to you, I still have your email I believe. Let me know

This is great! 8D Who cares about grown-up things, Adventure Time is in a league of its own. (I've had so many theories lately, from the new episodes; I'm tempted to rewatch the series from the beginning just to catch everything I've missed.) And are you actually making the stamps, too? 8D

Thanks! XD We were actually discussing the other night all the possible theories out there and a few of our own for the new episode coming up. It's really amazing how such a simple looking cartoon can have such a deep backstory!
As for the stamps, I did design them individually (not sure if ou can see them on the poster when you enlarge it) but they won't become real stamps unfortunately.

I remember a clip of this show Scott showed me once. It's very random. Perhaps that's a good excuse as any to choose Adventure Time as a subject rather than the norm or the expected. Even certain stingy teachers should appreciate that.

Random, yes, but what's great about it is that there's actually overall story arc that they'll touch on or make reference to when it calls for it. Plus it has some great character backstories, too.
What's great about this particular teacher was that he'd actually heard of and seen the show! A bit of an understatement to say I was surprised, lol, he's definitely not the kind of person I'd expect to notice it, much less remember it.
