I finally have managed to do a decent picture of Hugo!

Here is a quick profile and picture for the character Hugo Zehren in The Guardian of Old London Town on FF.Net and AO3 , a post-Galaxia Sailor Moon story focusing on Ami studying in London and meeting who she believes could be Zoisite. I'm going to make this the cover of the FF.Net post rather than my rough pencil sketches.

Hugo is the son of two doctors, a teaching doctor and a neurosurgeon, as well as the younger brother of three elder sisters, all of whom have chosen a medical career too. He is particularly sensitive about this as his case was well publicized - as was his swift recovery and uninhibited genius. Nonetheless he finds it very easy to make friends due to his friendliness and charm.

His first name Hugo is a Germanic name which means “Bright in Mind and Spirit” i.e. “Intelligent” in a brilliant sense. His surname comes from the Swiss High German term ze hērren, meaning “in service to a lord” although the word itself can also be used to mean "to tear down", echoing is possible duality. In full, his name basically reads as “Intelligent man in service to a lord” – reflecting his past life as arguably the most loyal/steadfast Shitennou member, loyal to his Master, commander and brothers. Hugo is British by birth although his family are distantly of Swiss heritage, going back 100+ years. His father currently lives in Switzerland.

Hugo is a Gemini, one of the two signs ruled by the planet Mercury. Just as Virgo (Ami's star sign) is the feminine aspect, Gemini is the masculine aspect of Mercury. Geminis are versatile, charismatic and intelligent but are also prone to anxiety, inconsistent and superficial. These are all traits that I felt fit comfortably with the character of Zoisite as we know him in post portrayals, so I felt this justified making Hugo a Mercurial ruled star sign.

The blood type AB is associated with changeable personalities, sociability and adaptability, which aren't too different from the Gemini star sign as well. They are considered to be the "worst" blood type as they are loose cannons as despite being trustworthy and responsible, they melt under pressure. Everything needs to be on their terms.
