Hello and Merry CRITmas! Are you ready for a visit from a little Critique Fairy?
Firstly, I want to tell you: please don't mind the stars! I don't like the system so I just give everyone the same amount.
Well then, about this dreamy landscape! I do love the amount of depth you've managed to create here, with the lavender gradually fading as it stretches out into the distance. Same with the birds! I feel though, that maybe the faraway tree should take a cue from these flowers and birds and tone its darker tones down a notch, as well! But that's just a minor thing.
I also like the otherworldy palette; it feels like this picture was painted at some magical twilight moment.
However, I'm a bit undecided on the light beams; combined with that moon behidn the clouds there, it feels a bit like the light sources and the light actually illuminating the scene are different concepts and not at all related. I am wondering if this painting could be improved upon if those bundles of light were stronger - strong enough to account for the vivid purples and pinks in the midground, and without the moon being there, just the veils of cloud... Or the reverse, where the moon is brighter and the only source of illumination! It would turn this side of the near tree a bit darker if that was the case, though.
Even so, this image is already very enjoyable and I'm sure others agree with me there. You should submit this to groups! I'm certain others besides myself will appreciate such a dreamy vision of a fantasy landscape.
