Story Description:

Obsidian is the root of the entire family tree. He was the first to rule the land of Entrill and was the greatest ruler in all of Nivia, at the time. His lonely early life spans throughout over one hundred thousand years where he lived quite contently amongst nature, exploring the land he and his fellow creatures inhabited, until he meets new intelligent beings like himself, only far, far smaller. It was then, after witnessing their destructive and careless ways, that he created Nivia's first law which brought order and peace to the land. A few million years after living with his new citizens he met a beautiful ocean spirit, Marielle. They grew a liking to each other and became fast friends, which over a period of time developed into love, engagement, and marriage. A couple of million years after creating the first law, certain intelligent species such as elves, pixies, orcs, etc. became uncomfortable with a couple of the rules set out for them. They had begun to develop their own laws and languages that better suited their tongues and vocal chords. Another few million years after that, Obsidian and Marielle decided to plan their retirement from rule as they felt their way of life was becoming old-fashioned for the ever-expanding world. They decided to give birth to an heir that would continue to develop the land and its citizens while still upholding and respecting the law they set out. Obsidian's reign would end when his heir would marry, beginning the next milestone in the Royal Family's life story.
