My humble entry for the KakaSaku FC 'Classy' Fanart Contest.

The contest parameters were to create a KakaSaku art piece inspired by a 'classical' (as in, displayed in a museum) artwork.
There's so many really beautiful and interesting artworks submitted! Of course, I would love to have your vote, but come check it out.

KakaSaku + Art Nouveau = Pure Bliss for ScaryRei!
Unfortunately, my art skills have severely diminished over the years. I thought I had all the supplies I needed, until I realized that all my acrylic paints had turned into chunks of vinyl. Thank goodness the Prismacolor pencils were unaffected by time, although the lead did seem a bit more brittle than before. The paper I used was some leftovers I inherited from my mother, so it may have been at least 20 years old (good thing it was non-acid paper). I couldn't find brushes/equipment I thought I had, so I kind of winged it with whatever I could scrape up. As an end result, my finished piece is not nearly as polished as I had hoped it would be, but all things considering I'm fairly pleased with it.

It's a totally analog piece. I don't have Photoshop (yet!) or any clue on how to make these beautiful digital pictures I see everyone else doing. I'm a Luddite, but one of these days, I hope to have the time to do something about it.

I'm just happy to have had an opportunity to do something 'artsy' after these years... oh, at least a decade or so?
